Frustration

Without boring you too much, I work for my local county as a building and automations engineer. I primarily deal with all electric issues and hvac issues in our courthouse. It's my job to troubleshoot and fix. 1 and a half years ago we spent 1.75 million dollars getting an entire overhual of our automations system for our HVAC system. We got the latest and greatest shit complete with blinking lights and beeps galore.

It's supposed to trend and sellf calibrate and I shouldn't really have to touch it. As of today it still isn't working as it was designed. I have to override and Mickey mouse my way through back doors in the programming in order to try and keep a building of 500+ Judges, Attorney's of all walks and the public happy.

Being in Chicago we get some intense temp swings... well today is one of thoose days. I came in and it was 45 degree's and now it's almost 75 and I can't get my chiller going because the programmer put a lock on the system overrides. People want to burn me at the stake and there is nothing I can do. I have been honest and show paperwork to back up my explanations but all they want is results, and i don't blame them at all.

I love what I do but man sometimes the fight just seems un-winnable.
