Ive played halo for a little over three months now. Not just XBL, but that is my total halo experiance. I dont have the years that some of you do. I know I suck. Im a highly competitive person. So the fact that I get pwned really buggs me, and I am very aware that Im usually in the last three on slayer games. Do I like it? no. Do I want to play better? of course. Do I feel bad for my own team when we get into a weakest link game? hell yeah!
What really stinks even more is that when I get nervous I play even worse. So If I am playing with people I dont know, Or people that intimidate me, what little skill I have goes out the window untill I feel more confident again. (its really a downhill cycle)
So the other night Im playing with some 2o2p peeps. It was my first game of the evening in a party that I had been invited to where I didnt know everyone. Not three min into the game, and I get told by someone on the other team after they killed me that "wow, you suck." wow. gee thanks. And no, they werent kidding. I could understand if it was a ranked game. But a laid back custom? My other favorite that happend in another custom 2o2p game was when they said over the team com "so, lady, are you actually playing?" Umm yeah, I just havnt managed to score yet. Thanks for pointing that out and making me feel bad and ruining the experiance. I think I will go cry in the corner by the sword spawn now.
To have some person that doesnt know me from jack tell me how bad I suck, it really peeves me. When its someone from 2o2p, thats even worse. Thanks for being a condensending asshat.
I can handle getting pwned 8 games straight by gaara. I even giggle when he teabags me.I know it is all in good fun. We both know he is good, and we both know Im still learning. So we all smile and laugh and are able to enjoy the evening. I have had other games where I wasnt doing well where better players have pulled me aside and given me pointers that improved my game tenfold. I appreciated it greatly. So Im not just being bitter that these people are better then me.
Anyway, I know this is just a petty complaint. I should suck it up, ignore it, and get on with my life. It really makes me wonder though, how many people got turned off of a great game because of people that couldnt help but to let their ass talk. If it werent great group of friends I normally play with, I know I would have throw in the towel ages ago because of comments that others couldnt be smart enough to hit their mute button for.
This post isnt for eveyone to tell me what a great player I am, or to build up my own ego. Just to let people know that unless they wish to come across as a jerk, that they should use their mute button, or even try to help people :gasp: instead of just putting them down.

I experienced it very early on in 2o2p... turns out it was somebody from one persons friends list and was not part of the clan.  Its wrong (and as you know from our game on Zanzi today with DikDuk) and will not be tolerated.  Stick with the OMM...

Hi Lady, I'm sorry you had to go through that - I totally understand the frustration as I've been on the receiving end of similar comments. I just don't play Halo often enough to get my skill level up much (I'll play hard a good week, then my job will get in the way of playing time). Anyways, it's been fun playing with ya, and welcome to the clan! :-D Kysr (Bondgirl007)

Damn, that is awful.  And inexcusable.  I hope that whoever said that to you was not a member of OMM.  With thousands of members on 2old2play, I guess we have gotten to the point where not everyone is going to be nice and laid back, but I would hope that at least within our clan this sort of behaviour does not exist.  I am terrible at Halo2, and I feel like a drain on my team most of the time. (Ive only been playing since September) But whenever I hear someone say "Crane, you suck", I just think to myself, usually while respawning, "Yes, I suck at Halo, but you suck big ole donkey d!ck."  That always makes me feel better.

Who, Who, Who!  I will personally will reroute their controller wire through their mouth and out their butt, controller first.  I prefer for you to be in one of my games.  the entertainment alone is better than the game itself.

Lady, that sucks and is inexcusable (imho) for a 2o2per to be that harsh in any game, let alone a custom.  I second crane when i say I hope it wasnt a fellow OMMer.  Anyways, thats why I stick to games with people I know, since I started some shit the last time we played with some Profanity kids who were Asshats too.  My reccomendation is to join up with Batman, Skeye and the rest of the A-team for some MM, since that is probably the funniest crowd to roll with. And dont worry, youll kick my ass in the tournament anyways :p

Look, people talk shit all the time in custom games.  They arent going to treat you any different just because youre new, theyre going to treat you just like family that theyve known for years.  No I wasnt in your particular game, but Ive been playing with these people here for over a year and have never un into unfriendly trash talking from a 2o2p person.  The ones I have run into are the tools who still have Timmies on their friends list.  Based on that experience, I dont think you ran into real rudeness, just some guys ribbing you like youre one of them.

ummm,  nope.  It was real rudeness.  I know the diffrence between ribbing and people being an ass. Hell, I have Mike James on my friend list ;) It might be able to file it under ribbing had I known the people longer then a quarter of a game and they didnt sound completely disgusted. I dont expect to be treated different because "I am new" (which I dont consider myself) or because I am female.  Being an asswipe and telling someone they suck, or booting someone because they dont play to your skill level (didnt happen to me, but to someone I know)  will always be rude whether or not youve played with them for a year or ten minutes. Just because you have never ran into it, doesnt mean that it doesnt happen. I know a few people that have had less then pleasant experiances with people from 2o2p, so I highly doubt that I am just taking something personally that was just ment in jest.

I am sorry for that.  I play with some of my friends and we have issues where not everyone is at the same skill level.  We try to even the teams out but it doesnt always work and ppl get frustrated and want to act like jackasses.  I hope it doesnt deter you from playing and feel free to send me FR if you ever want to play in any custom games.  I think if ppl took the time for a second to realize that ppl play halo to relax, not to win the Olympics of Nerdom, everyone would have a better time.

That sux.  I dont mind if your on my team.   You have an uncanny court sense for objective games.  Dont pay no mind to any of the ass hats and doubters.-Lotus

I know how you feel.  When I started playing I had only been playing for a couple of weeks, but fortunately no one ever made me feel bad.  I usually only played with the OMM because I was in the clan and I hadnt been on the site for very long. They were always good to me.
