Obey your GRAW

Sup y’all.  It’s humpday and normally nothing big happens on Wednesday but this week we are blessed with the arrival a Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, which is getting 9’s around the board from various review sites.

Unfortunately, my game rental service, Gamerang, is being a dildo and has not shipped my copy yet.  In fact, they changed the release date for GRAW from 3/8 to 3/10 this morning for whatever fucking reason.  Bastards.  Some are you are probably questioning why I just don’t go out there and buy it.  Well, I have never been a big fan of realistic shooters for whatever reason.  Probably, it is because I play aggressively and do not like sneaking around to get the perfect kill.  This works fine for Halo2 but is horrible for Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and similar games.  So, this is a rental for me and if it explodes to Halo like proportion I will use the Keep It option. 

Have you checked out the demo for The Outfit yet?  This was released Monday to fairly poor reviews.  First off, a lot of people were complaining about the download taking forever.  This caused a lot of sand grating on vaginas the next day.  “Oh Noes!!1!  This took 2 hours to download and I had nothing to do but stick my thumb up my ass for two hours.”  C’mon people.  This isn’t the first big demo released on the 360.  Yes, it sucks but you can start to plan ahead.  I started the download before dinner and by the time we had finished dinner, bathed young Master Connor, and put him to bed, the download had finished.  Until Microsoft figures out a way to distribute large content to huge amounts of people at the same time, we are going to have long download times.  They definitely need to program an update to allow us to do other tasks while downloading ASAP.

Anyway, The Outfit is a very interesting game that comes off as a cross between an RTS and a 3rd Person Shooter.  The graphics are subpar and the controls are overly complicated, so a lot of people are quickly dismissing this game.  But once you grasp the concepts of the game, it becomes quite enjoyable.  I have had a blast two nights in a row playing this demo.  On Monday, we had full parties of 2o2p’ers and last night it was just me and Sacrelicious.  The online interface is above average in that you have the ability to have ranked games or private parties with both pre and post game lobbies.  In this aspect, it is superior to both PD0 and CoD2.  Unfortunately, it is coming out in the same month as GR:AW and will probably be overlooked and underpopulated.  I would definitely at least rent this game if GR:AW had not been coming out at this time.  You will probably see me still playing the demo until my GR:AW copy arrives.  I will be the blond hair fraulein who snipes you from afar.
