Games for pre-schoolers?

If I'm on your friends list, you've probably seen me playing an inordinate amount of the Toy Story 3 game the last couple weeks. To my delight, my son is following in my footsteps and loves video games. Also, just like his daddy, he plays them exhaustively up front and then tires of them after a short time.

The Toy Story 3 game is great - many of the levels are open-world environments that do not present much challenge to him. Despite the fact that he's actually really good with the Xbox controller, he is only 3 years old and doesn't fully understand the idea of missions in games; rather he enjoys exploring and interacting without being confined to a time limit or hazards that keep him from exploring and interacting. He also loves watching me play similar games - Wednesday night he really enjoyed watching Batman AA (yelling "We have to find Harley Quinn so we can kill her!").

I'm looking for recommendations for games where interaction and exploration are a big part of it. Granted, I just described Second Life but he's only 3 and besides, Second Life sucks goat dick. He also likes Mario but we've tried a couple Mario games (New Super Mario Brothers and an old kids SNES game rom I loaded onto my Linux Xbox), and neither of them were up his alley.

Anyone have young kids who are also just getting into games and can recommend anything? Xbox, PS3, or Wii.

My daughter is seven and I can't keep her away from Kinectimals or Kinect Adventures.

my 3 year old is gonna be one of those video game prodigies... He loves Toy Story 3, he also plays the hell out of lego batman... I'll go through and finish the level and he'll play free play. Loves switching to MR Freeze and freezing me... He also really likes XBLA games like ninja turtles, doritos crash course (cracks up laughing and rolls on the floor when his avatar gets slammed into the TV screen...) He has a hard time with kinect games though, he just doesnt get it yet...

My 4 year old daughter loves Toy Story 3. She also loves Lego Batman, Lego Harry Potter and Lego Indiana Jones. She's not as fussed with the Star Wars games. I showed her the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean the other day and she can't wait for it. Also, Dance Central, Kinectimals, and Kinect Adventures are all big for her.

I bought kinectimals and he enjoyed it but he is still too young for it. He does like Kinect adventures though (especially the raft game) as long as I'm playing with him.

My son loves the Kinect adventures. He also really like the Lego Star Wars, and Lego Indiana Jones. Really also enjoys Sonic Unleashed. PS2 Test Drive Offroad, and Tony Hawk are both wins as well.
