Played my 360 for first time in 3 plus weeks

I actually felt like playing the other day.  I played Oblivion for a couple hours.  It was nice to be distracted for a bit from the obligations I have dealing with my brothers death.  I have now had to handle the aftermath of two deaths in my family (mom when I was 22 and now my older brother).  Thank goodness I learned early to deal with bad things without falling apart.  Having parents who divorced when I was 3 in 1968, before divorce was "popular".  My mom was treated like crap by her family for years because they didnt approve of divorce.  She didnt deserve that kind of treatment.  Of course, her family is a real piece of work.  They are really worried about appearances.  Too worried in my opinion.  My dad and step-mom had premature twins in 1973 or 1974 (cant remember which) that didnt survive.  Those were the days when preemies like that were doomed.

Anyway...enough depressing stuff.

I start summer school a week from today.  I had to sign up for a class that is a prerequisite for the graduate school program I was admitted to and that starts in the fall.  I have been told that my experiences with divorce and death/grief will be very useful when I actually become a therapist because I will be able to empathize with those who are dealing with those issues having experienced them myself firsthand.  Everyone has a unique experience tho and so I wont be able to say I "know" what they are feeling.  Everyone processes things thru the filter that was formed by their unique experiences.

I had to send my two black boxes to XBox repair a few weeks ago.  They both arrived back home safe and sound and WORKING again!! Yeah!  I have been playing NCAA 06 on one of them hence the 360 has not been getting any "love" from me.  You can check out my 360s blog at

Now I need to decide what to do with the 2nd one now that both are working.  Probably take the extra Xbox to our place in Bullhead City, Az.  I am taking the extra 27" TV up there next chance we get to go up.  I have a VCR and DVD player to take up there now too since I have to do something with my brothers stuff.  Now when we go up to the mobile home in Bullhead, I will be able to escape from watching movies like Smokey and the Bandit for the thousandth time.  My husband loves those types of movies....Blues Brothers, Gone in 60 Seconds (original), Duel, Cannonball Run and Gumball Rally.  He and his buddies drink beer and watch those movies over and over.  I get tired of them eventually.  Now I will have options and will likely be more interested in going there when he decides to go.
