I have been trying to get the hubby gaming. He likes car racing so...I bought him a racing game for Christmas...but he doesn't like controllers...he thought he'd be better with a wheel...so I ordered the wireless 360 Wheel from Amazon.ca as part of his present surprise. They were out of stock and a few days after ordering it I got an email saying that they would not be in stock as they were discontinued. Oh dear, right before Christmas? So I went hunting shelves at GameStop, EB, Best Buy, FutureShop, Wal-Mart, Zellers, you name it I tried it and actuslly - couldn't find one. So after Christmas I noticed the wheel was still on their site I sent along the comment that they should not offer it at all if it is discontinued. Meanwhile, hubby and I both went looking for a wheel for him to use on his newly acquired game. Couldn't find anything worth having and all didn't stock or have but recommended the wireless 360 wheel. Oh dear. Then while pre-ordering an upcoming book from a fav author I noticed the wheel was still up with a new little notation of "Out of Stock Will Ship When Available"...hmmm, still not discontinued....so I ordered it...again with little hope but no harm done....only on Friday there was a very big square box waiting for me on my arrival home from work that was obviously NOT a book...it was THE wheel. The box is in a-1 shape but very dusty. They must have found one on a back shelf somewhere in the immense galaxy, literally gathering dust. Now...its all up to the hubby. But...I think I might love Amazon.ca.

Oh yeah! Tis the season to be a gamer...might be the year to be a gamer! Where oh where have I been? This girl has been GAMING and loving it.

I am in the midst of gaming Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Star Wars Force Unleashed and odd-ie but hmmm, not so badie (cheapie-bin pick up) so far - Nier. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has sucked me in and I admit I am hooked and dedicating MOST of my playing time to it currently. BUT and ALSO I couldn't resist that X-Box made GTA San Andreas available for download and I had a Birthday present points card waiting to be spent...and so I did.

Whaaaa? Yo, gurllll that game is ancient!!! Yes, you are correct. But...it is still awesome. I had never played it. Shame-o-shame. Wondered about it, heard about it and I am a Grand Theft IV diehard fan. It is always high on my replay list so resistence it futile and I had to give San Andrea a touch. Ok - graphics dated, physics - dated but the story is so damn fun and the action is still pretty good and I am having an excellent time. Carl and his dudes are funny guys. So oldies (like me!) can be excellent goodies. I have been sparing little bits of time to it and to Limbo which is also a fun download.

X-box has sooo many amazing goodies to keep replaying or discovering. Yay! I have been fiddling around with GTA IV and original Assassin's Creed...again...still.

Now...

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - in a word - WTF? That is a word isn't it? Well, it is now because its my one blog to rule them all.

This game is insane.

I mean, seriously, best soundtrack I think I've ever experienced. No...usually I don't take much note of soundtracks, background noise/atomosphere...but kudos to Jesper Kyd...cause his soundtrack made my hair stand on end and I noticed. Big time noticed. Found myself sitting Ezio in strange places so I could just listen. So impressed am I that its on my iTunes download Gotta Get list. Yep, that serious. Amazing and wonderful and really reminded me how much we can take games for granted and not realize what outstanding talents from so many walks must all come together to land a brilliant lime green box in our consoles and blown us away. Assassin's Creed has always been extraordinary for looks and acting, many games are but I realized I don't really give enough thought to the whole journey of a single game into creation.

Second - freakest glitch EVER experienced in ANY game I've ever played. Ezio fell into an underground aquifer and when he dove he came back up for air "under" the world that had become transparent. I could see horses riding, people walking, the aqueducts, buildings and paths/roads. It was as if the grass was transparent and he was always underneath looking up. No matter how far he swam or fast. No way out or fix. So damn annoying, so damn freaky - what by the name of all that is holy happened at Ubisoft that generated this weird crap outta the chicken house? Pfffft! I quit to escape this extreme glitch but was so creeped out by the experience - I had to go get a glass of milk and watch some TV just to realign with all that is right in the world.

Is it just me or is Ubisoft doing something horrid to the control engineering? I noticed it a little in Assassin's Creed II but it seems more blatant in Brotherhood. Just sort of messy or sticky or something - he doesn't move as smoothly so the fights can be almost awkward or a bit frustrating in a frantic kinda way - for me anyway. But Ezio still rules and I love this tough italia man.

Lots to do in Brotherhood which surprised me - I thought the single player was going to be pretty short but I am pretty comfortable with the time I've spent at it so far rooting around. Plenty of fun, challenges and assorted stuff that just needs doing. Love Leonardo's machines, burning up sails and tanks and gliders...oh my, I am getting giddy.

OMG!!! Ubisoft, Ubisoft. pleeez quits with ALL the weird synch shit!! Surely you can cut this down a little? I can't stand it. I am a serious gamer that HAS to get 100% synch because I am anal retentive and just gotta! Don't be so damn EVIL will yah!!! My sanity is sacred...and thanks to you its becoming more fragile. Do you fellow gamers believe some of the soul wrenching you gotta do for some of these? I still haven't managed 100 % on Guardian of Forli and I know its me but I get so close...then I blow it. Grrrr. Oh...and shutting the gates in Gatekeeper for Bartolomeo was a FAIL tonight but....I got smoke bombs and will return to kickass and earn this one....

Wait a minute! What the hell are you reading this for?...Get your butt gaming....you know it, you love it...get on it!!!! (Did you miss me?)

Arrivederci, il mio tesoro, il mio amore! (You can Bable Fish that - I don't think its rude)

Cool... I haven't played a lot of those games, but I might have to check it out. Ubisoft lost me after the 3rd Prince of Persia. Just had too many games to play :)
