BioShock 2 Left (Me) for Dead

Arggggghhhh. I just finished BioShock 2...which was fast and short. Too short? I dunno, seemed it...or maybe I am getting good at kicking ass in spectacularly murderous fashion. Anyway. I died. Okay...technically I am re-dead...no, not like a zombie...just....a weird ending...and I am not utterly dead...just....semi-deadish. WTF? I am now going to loose sleep over my character...and his suspended confusing....demise? Continuance? Oh, dammitt, I don't how to explain it exactly...my body is dead but I live on in my...daughter....which leaves me feeling a tad disturbed but I'll get over it.

I missed the magic of BioShock. I remember when I popped BioShock into the console and sat back with the controller the opening literally dropped my jaw. I am NOT a jawdropper so...this was quite a "Wow" moment for me when it happened. I really enjoyed BioShock and was really looking forward to returning to the decaying decadance of Rapture. But...is it just me or was this #2 like having diet baked potato chips instead of regular chips? Did someone replace my sugar with an artificial sweetner....where was the....magic, the fizz in my soda?

I also failed....I couldn't get any of the record players to work. I was looking forward to those old 50ish tunes. Their different, set a mood and keep me chilled out. I left the game on normal and yet none of the battles seemed too tough so....what would easy have been like...ew....I kinda feel a little lost right now....I didn't get my wow, I didn't get a great experience that left me humming happily to my gamer-girl self. I just feel kinda flat.

And it would have been cool if just one section of Rapture, just one mind you, was completely untouched and gorgeous as it had once been. Frozen in time and giving us not a glimpse of what it once was but what this tiny corner still was.

I didn't find this BioShock as fascinating...maybe because once you've been to Rapture, you've been to Rapture. So...I am not sure how I felt about this one.

Very repetitive. If I had Live I would play with you Tank. Ooops...that sounded odd. I would play BioShock with you. I don't have Live so my co-op play experience is really limited. I played WoW for a while but all the grinding left me wandering away to my Xbox or 360.

Ya that's the problem with a lot of sequels. You play the original and you're exposed to a whole new universe, new story line, everything is brand new. The sequels are mostly just more of the same, nothing's really new. I found bioshock 2 to be pretty repetitive. Do the stage task, fight a big daddy, harvest adam with the little sister and drop her in the hole, then fight the big sister. Repeat. Sure yo uplay a big daddy in Bio2 but honestly it's not really much different than when you played a human / splicer in Bio1. You get outfitted with guns and plasmids and tonics, same thing as bio1. The multiplayer for me was the shining point of the game, i loved the multiplayer. Biggest problem is no one is playing it, i got to play with 2o2p people a few nights but mostly i played solo. But i loved it despite the random freezing issue.
