Toby has a family!

My Pen Pal, Toby was adopted this weekend.  He's going home with a small family that are already in love with him!  I was present for the meet and adoption, but I couldn't hang out too much.  Toby and I bonded and I was in the way during the meet.  Instead of mingling with the family he was interested in me, so I had to excuse myself.  My wife took over and did an amazing job! 

Luckily I was able to watch the meet from afar.  The highlight was seeing Toby snuggle into the lap of his new human brother.  Toby's new buddy learned all of the hand signals and commands that we taught Toby to respond to very quickly.  In a few minutes I could see Toby jumping through hoops, sitting, and having a great time.

I'm really going to miss this little guy.  Due to his very gentle and relaxed personality he fit in really well with my dog, LaLa.  We brought him to our neighborhood on a number of occassions and he was always a gentleman.  Volunteering at a shelter means I fall in love every week.  It also means a good amount of heart break. 

This week my wife is heading in to the shelter and will be picking our new Pen Pal.  I can't wait to meet our new buddy this weekend.  We're also getting ready to represent the shelter at a HUGE pet expo in PA this weekend.  If anyone wants details, please message me.

Last but certainly not least, my wife started helping the promotions team.  She's making scrapbook-like pages to help advertise the dogs housed at our shelter.  We're hoping this type of layout will help catch potential adopters' attention and lead to even more successful outcomes.
