Bioshock: Infinite is going to rock faces

I'm sure most have already seen this by now, but just by some slim chance you're stumbling across this and have not seen the gameplay footage from the new Bioshock title (coming in - dammit we have to wait for it - 2012), set aside 10 minutes and be blown away. This game is going to be EPIC!

Rock your face off Friday: Devin Townsend!

I am a huge, HUGE fan of Devin Townsend's work.  For those who don't know him, he's a Canadian songwriter, musician, producer, guitarist and vocalist.  His material runs the spectrum from incredibly serene and beautiful to the most brutal, intense, anger-ridden punch-you-in-the-throat-and-make-you-like-it-metal your mom has nightmares about.  In a world filled with music devoid of any "soul," this guy's albums OOZE character, emotion, and love for his craft.  He employs Phil Spector's "wall of sound" recording technique to create incredibly rich, layered, and thick sounds.  Check out his hi

Installing Halo: Reach on your 360 = WIN

For those pondering whether or not installing Halo: Reach to the 360's HD is a good idea, the verdict is in. From The Escapist:

If you're looking to make the most out of your Halo: Reach experience, you might want to save a spare 7GB on your 360's hard drive.

Rock your face off Friday: Haken's Aquarius

If you are at all....AT ALL...into epic, progressive, symphonic, technical, and/or jazz rock then you need to step away from your keyboard, drive to the record store, and pick up Haken's debut "Aquarius" from earlier this year (or just purchase it online). It has remained in HEAVY rotation for me all year long, and is simply an unreal debut by this band - one of those albums I have to listen to from start to finish. The lyrics and subject matter will seem odd out of context if you're paying too much attention, it is a concept album after all, but the music is SPECTACULAR.

Fancy game music? Try Rainwave.

I recently discovered the goodness that is Rainwave, a radio station for game geeks to the Nth degree. They also host OverClocked Remix's radio feed for those into the OCR community's remixing/reworking of various game music. I've found it a great soundtrack to knocking work out to, and some co-workers have even remarked about some of the more familiar songs that stream by. You're going to need Winamp (or something aside from WMP or iTunes) in order for it to work - see the help page. You can also sign-in and vote on what should be played next.

8-bits, remixed

Part nostalgia, part dance party, these 8-bit montages are a lot of fun. Enjoy!
