GOW2.....
Alright, fess up.....how many of you will be calling in tomorrow with the dreaded "locust influenza"? Tonight is the night to pick it up after 11:30 pm (or at least according to the message from Gamespot I got). And here I haven't even finished my Fable-crack-addiction........so many games...so little time!

A little late.....
I know, I know Halloween is a thing of the past but I had to post pics of my kids. So I found this costume at a second hand childs colthing store and I talked my daughter into it. Any ideas what could have me so excited to share this pic? Well, its only the best superhero costume EVER!!! So, my daughter wasn't totally on board here but I did my sappy little "Oh, you look so cool! I bet nobody will have a costume like yours!" and talked her into it. Her pick was a frilly little pink thing but once I showed her some of the cartoons of WW I think I convinced her WW was way cooler than that pink frilly thing!!
Anywho....check it out! Now if only I could have found one for me.......(BTW, I checked....I'm cheap and won't pay the price for the "adult WW costume".....not to mention.....my neighbors would probably think I'm nuts!
)

Happy Election Day!
P.S. The latest polls show this guy ahead.....

Hey, who wouldn't vote for Optimus Prime?

Aftermath....
Wow, I've never seen the like of winds like we did here on Sunday. And to think....this was only a small part of what those poor folks down in TX saw. My prayers are with ya'll. We were very lucky. Family is fine and no property damage. Many of my neighbors were not as lucky.
My neighbor on one side lost his roof....

My neighbor across the street had a tree fall forward onto her roof. Luckily no damage to the house..

A little further down the road....

The roots of a tree at a ditch near our house...

And some poor persons car....smoosh!

And now on a lighter note......my dauther getting ready to score her second point of the game (oh, I know were not suppose to keep score for these "mini-games" but lets face it...what fun would that be?)

Good luck and God bless any of you out there in the TX area still trying to crawl out from under the destruction of Ike!

Oh, no you didn't.....
....that song from the Mercenaries 2 commercial is currently runing through my brain. I can't shake it! I rented this with hubby to see if it was any good. I'm actually suprised at how much fun it is! That is if you can forgive all the goofy glitches...I swear there is a new one every night! The one that takes the cake has to be when I tried to join a co-op with hubby the first night and when it threw me in, it put me in the passenger of a an invisible boat....so here hubby is driving around (on his screen anyway) and my character (Jen) is sort of doing the "squat" over the rushing waves! All I could think about was the old episodes of Wonder Woman and her invisible jet (but you could still see her???
) zooming in the sky. Yeah, I giggled a little. The glitches can get pretty annoying. The other night hubby got his tank blown up and when he sprang back up his health didn't regenerate...it just stayed at 1 with that annoying red overlay on the screen. He tried to get killed, tried picking up health packs...nothing worked. The only fix was to quit and join back up. I can see why it didn't get very good ratings. Its definitely not Halo or COD...no long lasting MP playability but it fits the bill for getting me by 'till the next game. Very glad I didn't shell out $120 for the two games it would have taken for us to play this one. However, its just so much fun to destroy everything and I mean EVERYTHING! Hijacking vehicles of every sort...running over pedestrians (totally by accident). Not to mention hear everyone say "Hey it's that Merc that got shot in the a**!" We are about at 50% complete...I'd like to finish the game but I'm fighting a nasty head cold and staying up late every night is begining to get to me. We have to return it in two days, and although we could rent it again SWFU comes out early next week. Maybe I should just take that time to catch up with Halo and get some zzzz's.

I thought of you when I saw this one Flap...I know there not but pancakes but I know I know what to get you for birthday! LOL!

Mini-me....
I think I'm starting her out right......

Its funny to watch her get fully absorbed into her games and see her competitive nature come out. (I wouldn't know who she gets that from
). She knows I play video games but doesn't witness much of it. Mostly because she is in bed when I settle down to play. Whats even funnier is to see the difference between her and her brother. I don't know if it is an innate thing with boys but he likes fast paced action games. The few times he has seen me play he is usually yelling, "Oh there's a guy mommy....over there!!!!" She tends to prefer the lower key casual games. (Except for the Wii...she has a mean arm in tennis and man does she get mad when doesn't win!) Whenever we've played the Wii we have been unable to entice him into the games....he'd rather watch or go off and play. Its funny because I come from a sort of "stereotypical" household. My mother was never really fond of me playing with whatever gaming system my brother had at the time. I remember him getting the Super Ninetendo for Christmas one year and asking if I could have his old nintendo. The answer was "No, girls don't play video games." I guess she thought she could deter me into something more feminine....hump...fat chance. Not that I'm not a "girly girl", in the since that I like to get dressed to the nines but I've always had a love of gaming. So from then on I was allowed "limited time" with big brother's game when he was working or just out. I can remember quite a few times sneaking in there and turning the sound as low as possible, but still loud enough for me to hear. After all...my brother didn't care...so why should mom? I've had to learn at kind of a late age what "timmys" are and what creeps they can be...so here's to hoping that one day...she will play along side of me and tear them to shreds. So, although there are some games I'm not ready for her to witness (GOW for example - simply for the blood and stuff - she has a bit of a weak constitution....Jurassic Park scared the daylights out of her) I will continure to encourage her to play games. Even though my mom whispers in me ear "Isn't she too young for video games? Why waste your money....just buy her some Barbies." Well mom, because I didn't have this chance and I want to see how far she will go with it. Who knows maybe one day she'll become a great game developer?
