Well, we did it.

My wife and I bought our first HD television tonight. 

We have gone from a 27" standard def TV to a 40" 1080p Toshiba LCD.

Those commercials where people are overwhelmed by shopping for them is spot on.  I researched it out alot yesterday and thought I knew what I wanted, until I got to the store and we started to compare everything.

I was ready to get a 32" set, then my wife was the 40-42" ones and there was no way to convince her to go smaller.  I do so love my wife.

Side by side it came down between this and a Sony 40" LCD but we both agreed that the Toshiba has just slightly better colors, the white were better, and the blacks looked phenominal (do doo do do do).  

Now my wife wants to get a surround sound set up for in here.....its so hard living with a wife that is into tech sometimes...(sarcasm).

We are going to get a PS3 for Christmas for the BluRay movies and I am going to run network cable up to the living room in order to get this XBox 360 live and running so we can have netflix running up here as well.

I am also way hopped up on pain medicine from my back surgery yesterday.

I would  like to apologize to Digital Violence for their fund raiser GoW2 event, I just can't sit and play games, the way they cut through the layers of muscle in my back has me in a position where I can't play for long periods of time.

Excercise DVD's day 2

So intead of Zombie killing with my clanmates (not that I didn't want to, I just couldnt get the game) I did Disc 2 for the P90X home fitness, the Plyometrics DVD.

OMG good.  They said it was one of the harder workouts and they weren't kidding.   It was 50+minutes of cardio slamming extreme explosive moves, mostly involving lunges, jumps and whatnots.   I built up more of a sweat with this DVD than I do when I do 45mins of eliptical cardio at the gym.   In a word it was awesome.   I managed to do maybe 1/3 of the activity they did on screen, mostly because i could not keep up no matter what I wanted and I was trying to maintain some semblence of form on exercises I have never seen before.

One thing I have learned, I need much better sneakers for this sort of thing. 

Today my arm is still wicked tight and stiff from DVD1 Thursday, I can't bend it enough to actually feed myself or shave, so those push ups kicked my ass severely.  On top of that I have a nice burn in my thighs and calves when I walk, which is good and I can feel some tightness in my chest from the build up of the previous workouts.

Tonight is Shoulders/Arms and the Abdominal DVD again...god help me.  I am not sure how much I will be able to do with my right arm this sore but I am going to at least try.

P90X....PX90...whatever

I just started this workout DVD collection and all I can say is good christ.

I haven't been physically drained as I am right now since I first started Tae Kwon Do when I was 20.

My arms and shoulders are completely and totally blasted.   I have to say, considering I did maybe one third of the amount the people on the DVD did, I am very pleased with the workout in general.  Today was two discs, the first was chest and back and was 56mins of pull ups, push ups and resistance band work.  After than I did the abdominal DVD which is only 16mins long, and which is about 14mins more than I was capable of doing.  My stomach feels like it been strained way past its boundaries.  Considering I do tons of supposed crunches at the gym in the morning, this routine is fucking brutal.

God help me in the morning when I get out of bed.
