The Daily Show and Colbert Report On XBLM

The Video Marketplace will now be offering The Daily Show, and its spinoff: The Colbert Report starting tonight.

One thing that the Xbox 360’s video marketplace has done right is getting content that is well suited to the average gamer. From incredibly popular shows such as South Park to all the ressed-up re-releases of Star Trek, it’s obvious that Microsoft and it’s partners are well aware of their core demographic.

Fittingly enough, and already with a huge lineup of Comedy Central programs, the Video Marketplace will is launching The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report downloads via Xbox Live Marketplace premiering a few hours after each new episode. Each episode will be priced at an iTunes-competitive price of 160 MS Points ($2 USD).

It amazes me that people would pay for a Comedy Central show, they show repeats about 10 times a day. It is pretty hard to miss a show.

I'm no longer amazed at what people will pay for in marketplace. An episode of Robot chicken is like, what 80 points? 160? That's a 15 minute show, folks, half an hour if they're putting two together.
I'm pretty bitter over the whole marketplace idea after the 500 point 3-song packs for Guitar Hero 2.

i haven't had cable in months. my ex-wife however....has the whole shabang. i just can't see paying for cable twice. anyway, for me this is a good addition. i'll gladly cough up a couple bucks now and then for one of the few shows i actually miss.

I was searching through the marketplace for a movie to rent which is the only good idea in the marketplace. But of course there was nothing I wanted to see. But I did notice the top ten downloads for television had South Park in nine spots. My point is that apparently the majority of people downloading are 8 year olds.

I like many people have a Tivo/DVR or even a VCR if I really need to record more garbage to feed my brain. But paying for one episode that is free in the first place is insane. But on the other hand I pay for cable television so I'm as just as a pathetic as the rest. But at least cable offers up some foreplay before fucking you with the bill.
