Starcraft 2 Annouced

Just as the gaming world thought for months now, Blizzard is well underway with the production of Starcraft 2. Rejoice for Zerg!

WoW-ing the fans at the Worldwide Invitational in Korea, Blizzard has officially stated that their next title will be Starcraft 2. Apparently, lead designer Dustin Browder is actually playing the game to display gameplay footage for the crowd. Other details are scarce as this was literally JUST announced. Stay tuned!

FYI:Charles Onyett from IGN is blogging the entire event live in Seoul as we speak, giving all Starcraft nerds (like me) a play by play of the entire announcement. You can check out some of the newly released screenshots over here and check out a not so clean version of the gameplay below.

for a LONG overdue refresh of the game.

I don't imagine they'll get this out on 360 though. Beyond the control challenges, it takes blizzard too damn long to get anything out. We'll all be on xbox720 by the time Starcraft 2 release :)

yeah...man i wish Starcraft or Age of Empires would ocme out for the 360 though...i can;t afford to keep up with a cpu anymore, but it would be nice to get some 4 man headsup games going...

You can get a dual core Intel with 2GB of memory, a new motherboard and probably even a video card for the price of a PS3. :)

I've been waiting for this for a really long long time. I gave up hope and tried moving on to Warcraft and Age of Empire, but it didn't hold my interest the way Starcraft did! I loved playing this on my Mac! Well, the Mac is long gone, so my PC or whatever platform they release it on will have to do!
