Limited Edition 360 Console

"The Simpsons" will take Xbox 360 by storm later this summer in advance of the famous Springfield family's big-screen debut on July 27, 2007 Xbox 360 is partnering with FOX to help promote "The Simpsons Movie," offering fans the chance to get their hands on one of 100 limited-edition "Simpsons" Xbox 360 Pro consoles through a series of special events and promotions.

Lights, Console, Action - D'oh!

The Simpsons has "a bit" of a fan base and this movie is going to be a blockbuster even if it's the worse movie of the year. The number of fans, the number of seasons and the target audience is perfect, the timing is right and now Microsoft wants to be part of it.

If you look at the type of person that watches this cartoon you'll notice a high adult demographic and who better to pitch a 360 console to!?

Yeah, but if you lived in the actual, real-life Simpsons house, it would be perfect! I think this place is just outside Vegas (surprise, surprise) and is an actual livable house. I don't know if anyone lives there now, but I recall a couple of years ago it was either being given away or auctioned or some such...

Interesting... so, if this is a hit, what's next, NFL, World Series, Monster truck LE, NASCAR, Survivor, 24, Baywatch, Save Africa, Cure Breast Cancer... etc themed Consoles?

If this is all just coloring and decor, I guess there's no harm... I thought the whole point of the face plate was the customization. Not the controllers and the console skin.

This is segway for small equipment changes or even software changes in different versions of the console. That leads software instability or worse - incabatability issue potential.

Maybe they'll stay on top of it and maybe there will be nothing "new" in the LE console of the quarter, but I truly wonder if this isn't going to be a mess.

Hmm... what's the chances you're going to be able to find a yellow headset and rechargable battery pack and charger to go with that awful looking thing anyway. Afterall, you'll want to completely Homer-ify right?

Ironically, this seems like MS made a "Doh!" here.

That, I'd guess, is the premium, though I thought I read elsewhere that Microsoft was dropping the 'premium' or 'pro' tag, so that there'd be an 'Elite,' a 'Core' or just an Xbox 360.

No matter which one it is it will be a waste of money. That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. And the other thing I don't understand is why anyone watches that show. I guess I just never got into it.
