Having Trouble With Halo 2 Maps?

Many Xbox 360 users are reporting some problems when trying to purchase and download the pack, getting an error message leaving them empty handed.

Today, Bungie's making a rallied attempt to get Xbox gamers playing Halo 2 again, and possibly regaining the crown of the number one Xbox Live game (since Gears of War's launch it's been #1) with the release of the latest Blastacular map pack.

If you're having some problems getting them through your Xbox Live Gold account, a user on NeoGAF has come up with an apparent workaround:

Go to the download area within Halo 2 and log in to your Gold account and attempt to download the maps. You will get the Premium Content error, press the A button and then the B button to get the Gamertag list back up and proceed to log in with your spare Silver account. Attempt to download the maps where it should start and then stop with a message saying you will not be charged, then log back into your Gold account and try once again to download the maps and it should work.

While this is just a temporary workaround until Bungie gets around to fixing the issue, it may help a few of you out there having some problems. I, myself encountered a similar error, but my issue was resolved simply by signing out, then back in. After that, everything proceeded as originally intended.

My wife and I each have a 180 and we are still unable to download the new map pack! Furthermore, we are unable to access any part of our account settings on xbox live! :(

I called MS. Talked with 6 people. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with MS and one with my brother and still no maps. Read about my day at http://www.2old2play.com/Blog/scvff

My Original account somehow got migrated to a 360 account when I had Premium Purchases turned off. I can get them turned back on. MS says that they are back on and that I am receiving this error because of network traffic.
"Premium Purchases are not enabled for the Xbox Live account. To make premium purchases with the account enable Premium Purchases in Account settings in the Xbox Dashboard."

Hmm.. Nothing in there says anything about network Issues.

I have a 180 still and had no problems downloading. I was on at about 6:30 PM EST though, maybe early enough to avoid the evening rush.

Maps are good - would have liked a bigger one as well though.

i had an issue with it saying my cc was expired but it wasnt, all i did was redo an account recovery on my old box and it worked

No problems here, but I did log into my ORIGINAL XBL account that I set up on my 180. I think it helps if you use the admin account if you have more than one account.

I finally got the maps to download on all my systems, now. I should have put 1/3 the problem in my original post because I actually have three 360's, and I could only get the maps to download on one system. However, problem is finally solved. Man, what a pain in the buttocks.

I think you just hate the whole 360 lol. Almost everytime I see you post you are going off lol. I agree that I don't think they were worth the wait but at least its something different for a change. Waiting that long I was hoping for 4 or 5 maps.

lol i know what you mean about the 360 thing but thats cause i feel so conned by them lol.

Regarding the maps though they are introducing them for team snipers which i play all the time and i dont feel they have the requirements for that.

On one of the level you get up to the lights and sit there with a sniper however if you jump anyfurther than that you die

I could not get the maps for either my xbox180 or 360, until I created a silver account (which was a free 1 month gold account)and attached a credit card. Even then I had to wait until 6:00am this morning to get the download to work. Now if I can only get it on my xbox180....

I have been having trouble downloading also and having trouble accessing my account.
I talked to people at Xbox live and they are still working out issues with their servers. The problems should be worked out by 4-20-07 so they say.

I just got around to getting these maps, no problem whatsoever with my charge going through my account, I just can't download the maps.

They will make sure there is no issue with taking your money. Oh well, I'm sure it will work soon.

I did the "delete incomplete download" and try again method about 10 times before giving up. This was around 10pm east coast time. After giving up and playing something else for a few hours, at around 2am I decided to try again. Success this time, did nothing different. I think it kicks up that message when the servers are too busy but bungie/microsoft are claiming that all this will be fixed monday but give no details.
