GTA4 Leaked by Pirates

by JonahFalcon| Published: Wednesday, April 23 @ 13:15:24 EDT

Sky is blue. Water is wet. Pirates rip off another big game. Xbox 360 Fanboy is reporting that Grand Theft Auto IV - the Asian PAL version - is floating around the warez sites.

At approximately 1:45AM EST the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV was leaked onto the internet. According to our X3F tipsters, who better plan on actually buying the game, thousands of users are leeching the 6.36 GB potential game of the year candidate. The release is a rip of the PAL version, specifically from the Asian market, and comes a mere six days before retailers place the game on store shelves.

Note to pirates - Please dont request that people buy the game if they like it and say things like , "Rockstar deserves it" as if that makes stealing ok. It's not.

Oh, and a host of YouTube videos with major GTA4 spoilers have appeared, so be wary.

(Thanks, X3F.)

I really understand how this is wrong. But I have to say I find it ironic (and a little funny) when people who make there money glorifying "stealing", "Drugs", "Prostitutes/Striper" get bent out of shape when it happens to them. Not just in video games, but with rap music as well. It's like "let me make money off of singing/gaming on the illegal stuff people really do, but buy my stuff because stealing is bad".

Again I understand this is wrong and I do NOT do it, but if you are going to have a "break into a house and steal the boxes" mini quest, you should not be surpised when some people who enjoy that part of the game do things like that in real life!

And I am sure they will make like a billion $'s anyways :o)

That someday hackers or those that move the pirated software, learn to spell.

Don't title-case "Of" and for the love of god, don't call us bushlovers with the acceptance of the president so low...it's dumb...and makes you sound uninformed.

Oh wait, they can't spell so the chances are they don't keep up on current events either ;-)

Doesn't this require that you hack the firmware on your DVD drive? How many people are willing to risk that, and be unable to play online?

yes, you have to hack the firmware & there are still some people out there undetected on xbl.

First, the new hacks let you play online. Second, the NTSC version is out also. I have seen alot of people playing it. However, there was a press release yesterday (have to find it again), where rockstar is telling retailers to just go ahead and sell it now so that people will spend the money and get the game since others seem to have disregarded the street date and sold it anyway.

I called my local gamestop last night who said they hadnt been told that as of yet. But the press release was yesterday afternoon. It was a reliable source also, which has had me on the phone since this morning trying to find out if I can pick my copy up or not..LOL

Just because the firmware on the drive is modded doesnt mean ban. Its the peoeple that play the games without the proper security sectors online that are getting banned. (I have done alot of research on this stuff. I love to tinker with things. )

I also should add that I in no way endorse the downloading of pirated games. But, if i can mod my car i should be allowed to do whatever I want with items I paid for and own. :)

Yes you can many people are on live right now with "backup" games and after your banned then you use xlink.Which only works for a few 360 multiplayer games.

Dude, You CAN play online. Not to say people cant get busted as things always change. Im sure in the spring update we will see more bannings. I dont care if they ban people playing pirated games as much as I do going after people that just mess with their box.

For the most part the Security sector thing on the games has been fixed and most people buy the games they want to play online from my understanding.

And only because I KNOW its going to come up. NO PEOPLE THAT MOD ARENT HACKING TO WIN! The time it takes to even think about doing somthing like that just isnt worth it. And the people that download roms just to pump their gamerscore are just plain retarded anyway.

There are MANY benefits to playing around with your 360. One is being able to boost your read times on the drive, others allow you to put a huge ass HDD on without purchasing the over priced MS one. You can even full slow bad reading drives into thinking they are a different model usualy negating some of the issues with games and certain drive models.

If it wasnt for modders of the original XBOX you would not have Media center on your 360, Wireless Controllers that start up your box and turn it off and alot more. Including support for xvid/divx. MS has admitted that they also followed the modding community and bcz of that were able to put out a system with the best of the things they had found.
