E3: Fall Dashboard Update Video Preview

GameTrailers has posted a great video guide to the upcoming Xbox 360 Fall Dashboard Update. Is it too much like Apple TV? Maybe - but Microsoft stole all their best ideas from Apple and improved on them.

You also have a mini-version of the current Dashboard in case you’re not comfortable with all the bells and whistles.

This video is great but it only reveals a few more things than what was showing in the press briefing live.

There are still shloads of questions still yet to be answered. About the only thing newly revealed in this video is the new fly out guide format, they didn't cover that in the press briefing.

And why didn't they ever scroll over to the System graphic? Is taht kind of suspicious ? The 3 or 4 times they scroll through all the slides, they stop just before the system one. Hmm......

So ... it totally looks like themes and gamerpics are gone. Glad i didn't waste any money buying that stuff. Just went with the free stuff thank god.

I don't think it was that they didn't scroll over the system slide or "blade", they never went all the way to the last blade in a row. Probably just wanted to go far enough so that you could tell it was there and see what was on it...They did the same thing with the movie blades and the games blades - they always stopped just before Too Human, for example. It was a demo.... nothing functional, nothing deceptive.

I agree tho' that there wasn't much new, but it was a good summary. The videos on Inside XBox had the new features kind of broken up amongst multiple videos annoying Major Nelson and TriXie blurbs.

Looks like its pretty fast but I wonder if there will be anyway to keep your old dashboard if you wanted to. Probably not.
