Are those specs just for the demo or will the final game use those specs as well? Looks like Crysis is the only game where you need a ridiculously powerful PC to play it.

Those are the real spec's, which look suspiciously close to what you need for Gears of War and Unreal Tournament. Must be "industry standard" for this month :)

Like COD2 with a new theme. Thats good, but coming off Orange box and Bioshock this one doesn't seem so special at all.

Its the same COD gameplay since the original and COD2, but with modern guns and theme. The demo level was very much the same as the COD2 demo 2 years ago.

Crouch behind cover, aim down site to take out guys in windows or in ground. Move on, spray dudes in close-quarters. They might get up exactly like they did in 2...finish them. Watch out for white grenade warning...watch your teamate run into it.

Very bread and butter. Since Crysis is coming out at the same time I probably wont get around to buying this until later.

The only thing that I felt was different and I mean ONLY thing was that you could get shot through a wall.

It looks prettier, you die cooler but it felt exactly the same as COD2 right down to being able to jump out of a 2 story window and keep on running with a full pack.

Wish I had a rig to run Crysis, I just might leave my console behind for a while...I wonder what the specs are on that game and what PC i'd need to run it.

I agree. The game is a lot like COD 2. Which is great, because COD 2 had tremendous replay value because of its MP. That is probably because of the development team, Infinity Ward. Team Fortress 2 is a lot like Shadowrun. Halo 3 is just Halo 2 with TIVO. Crysis? Yeah, I guess it's a good game if you want to spend $2049. $2000 for the new computer, $49 for the game.

Okay, Let me get this straight, Crysis produced by EA. The same EA that rushed out MOH airborne to cash in on the tactical realism crowd by releasing a complete piece of shit that wasn't finished by about 3 months so they could beat COD4 to the shelf and get paid. Well at least they met the sales quotas. I'm sending my copy of airborne back to EA so some poor sap can open my return box and smell the human excrement inside, at least I get some enjoyment from owning it and the message might get sent up the chain of command. We ARE talking about the same COD4 that runs on most everyone's machine with a brand new engine developed to run on.....most everyones machine. Forget the fact that it's not DX10, it looks fantastic and runs smooth as slik with a lot happening on screen and no dip in fps. I'm sick of getting games for the PC that aren't finished. If you were like me and were anticipating the MOH release you know what I'm talking about, it was dead before it hit the shelf. At least COD 4 is coming off the press' finished and is fun. Yes fun. I predict Mod support will be fully supported with almost all encarnations of server availible. EA can lick the stain off my underwear for all I care, Crysis would have to be the game of the century for me to send a cent to EA after what they did to the MOHHA series. EA has no real interest in us and proves it with many mediocre releases and lack of support. EA = Earnings Always. Crysis is just a BF clone that alows you to change player stats associated with armor from my experience. Let me clarify, it's a LAGGY Battlefield clone that allows everyone to expect revolutionary game play with a huge investement in upgrades to ones system. EA is corporate period. FUCK EA.

So you hated COD2 game play? I see an fps that has lasted the test of time for many. I loved what COD 4 beta was on the 360 and plan on spending the $110 estimated cost for both pc and xbox versions but that's just me. I fully anticipate to be very satisfied with both purchases and spend many an hour playing both.

"Crouch behind cover, aim down site to take out guys in windows or in ground. Move on, spray dudes in close-quarters. They might get up exactly like they did in 2...finish them. Watch out for white grenade warning...watch your teamate run into it.
"

Perhaps that is the single player demo experience. I bet online multiplayer incarnations of COD4 will be full of shanks and flash bang adrinalin filled spankings. I see the COD 4 community flourishing with what this game has to offer. A resurgence for computer based FPS is what I have my hopes on with COD4. I played many hours on the 3 maps for the 360 beta and still didn't get enough. I can't wait for Nov 6th.

So COD4 is better than Crysis because its not EA published and its on an old enough engine to run on older systems?

(Yes, you were wrong on the engine. Its the same engine they got from Id but slightly modified...again. Industry buzzword "brand new engine" usually means newly modified.)

You bring up a very convincing arguement that I'm sure someone out there will consider. I'm sure if you read around the internet many people are suprised at how little COD has changed. Its sad, since IW who

Agreed, MOH has been garbage since the first game on the PC. But that doesn't mean IW can become complacent in terms of innovation and expect *everyone* to eat it up. Some people will just play other games.

Airborne seemed a bit anemic to me, but it was good for your generic fps. CoD and the sequel really drew me in, you could say I'm a fan... but after the demo... I would say it's a good game, but I don't get that same feeling: Like I'm actually a part of the fight, like I got in the first 2. Maybe It's been too long since I played the first one, but I seem to recall the first mission in the first game having a frenetic intensity that made me want to continue. Nonetheless, the action is solid, and it plays fine on my average pc. Maybe the level doesn't represent the pace of the game... dunno, but I held out on MOH: Airborne for this, and I'll probably buy it.

is what turns you off. If so, that's cool.

But COD4's mp is gonna be the best mp game of the year - already proved itself at e3 and will continue to once it's released. I guess it's like Halo, either you like it or don't.

I know that my 360 is going to get really friendly with that COD4 disc....it'll be in the tray for at least a year, probably more.
