2old2type Ep 41: It's Deadly Alright

by DSmooth| Published: Friday, July 25 @ 08:07:51 EDT

2old2type Radio, the official podcast of 2old2play.com is here again. This week we discuss the Little Big Planet DLC debacle, gaming and site news, and a whole lot more.

DSmooth and Codemonkey cover the new releases, the best of the gaming news this week, and handle a bunch of listener submitted questions. From micro-transaction based MMOs to free vs pay DLC, there is bound to be something that interests everyone.

The background music has been toned down a bit this week, so there should be no more complaints on that... :)

I totally wanted to get that game but I wasn't willing to pay 60 bucks for it. I was waiting for the discount bins, i love the show too. I could totally be a greenhorn  I'd be the guy hanging on the side of the pot stack that fell into the water

I'm listening to the POD's Deadliest Catch section right now and I'll make the same recommendation I did for Pheaks on Geeks.

Recommendation:
A time index would be nice and "probably" easy to do. Doesn't have to be very detailed.

I like the audio quality and the professional sounding dialogue of this PODcast. Keep it up and you may attract some quality guest speakers.

I'm surprised at the volume of content. Can you keep it up or are you going to burn yourselves out? Burnout equals no podcast and you lose your audience.

Good luck and continued success.

As in, an index in the podcast as it's running on an ipod? If so, that requires AAC encoding which will, I believe, break the ability to listen to the podcast on flash audio feeds and limit the devices that can listen to it.

Which is typically why some folks put out two editions, the AAC "ipod" edition and the normal one. That's a good deal of work, and probably requires DSmooth to get a mac (or buy some software).

As for burnout? I've been podcasting for a few years now every week and I'm still going, my wife and I are building a business out of it (working on the business plan), so don't expect any burnout :)

Glad to read you're not burning out. My point in asking is because I would appreciate a continuity of shorter programs over a discontinuity of longer ones. So for me, if shorter means more available then that is good. If longer means no show for months then I lose my interest. It's what ever you can handle.

I, as a listener, can make time available if the show is well structured and described.
