iPhone still kickin

After I bought the 8g and filled it up in less than 30 day, I found myself back at AT&T going with the 16 gig model. The iPhone is pretty cool. For me it is more of a hand held computer with a phone added on. For many others it is a phone with some serious benny's. That is the great thing, no matter what you need it seems the iPhone is up for it. If the friggin phone company would only lower the cost everyone I know would take a bite of the apple.

I am hopeful that the 3.0 update will have a flash player so HULU will work. Now I have to settle for TV.com... oh well.

Apple nickel and dimes and shakes all the change out of my pockets, but so far I am still impressed with the phone...

So far so good

Ok.... today I officially changed the wallpaper on the iPhone to the HAL9000. It deserves it, and Steve Jobs and the folks at Apple deserve a round of shout outs!

It is easy, fun and just plain works well. There are a few things I hope are addressed with version 3.0 (flash player please) But the iPhone is the closest thing to a hand held computer I have ever seen. The palm pilot was interesting, but no where near the tech, polish, or ease of use. And I can say, as I was an apple comp user for many years, Apple stands behind their products.

Now, all I need is a teenager to show me how all the crap on the iPhone works! Oh well... the Genius Bar is always open, I will have to stop in there.

I hope this will be the greatest story ever told.

This Friday I will be going down a road less traveled. Much like the story of Genesis, it starts with a bite from the fruit of the tree of knowledge. I will be taking a bite of the apple.

Many things have brought me to this fork in the road, and seeing as I am a slow typer I will keep it very short. I have researched, and studied, and consulted and made many enemies of sales reps for AT&T. I NEVER, never never buy a tech gadget on a whim. I look for very specific things and how it will effect, and benefit my life before I make a purchase. I am right much of the time, but not all.

Some changes in the workplace have played a major part in this decision. The worst being the new rule of NO streaming media. That is not such a bad thing, but many of those appointed to rule over me, and there are many, have no understanding of what is streaming and what it is archival. So in the interest of sounding important, and saving time, ALL video media is banned. One of "them" said it like this. "If you can click the play button.... DON'T!"

This leads most of us to either submit, or find other ways of getting media. Some sneak it, some just break the new rule when they think no one is watching, and some give up and read. Many others have found a new fountain of information, the iPhone. It is fast and can do almost all of what I can on my computer at work, with the only downside being a smaller screen to youtube on.

I have been a razr user for years now, and have never had an open front phone, always a flip for me. It is a new experience, but I am hopeful that it will be a good one.

Anyway, it keeps me under the radar at work, and lets me surf when my wife is behind the wheel.

And as long as AT&T lets us stream I will stay with the iPhone. And my work computer can stay just for work.

Time to pick a side...

I hope I am wrong, but it seems to me that events are leading us toward another world war. It seems, when times get tough, and someone wants to push their views and or expand their borders... You get the drift. Time is also a factor. There has to have been enough time, about 50 years, since the last world war so that the old folk who actually fought in the war are dead and can't sound the warnings loud enough to quiet the young folks war chants.

I read the article in the Huffington Post and on the Drudge Report, that the terrorist from Pakistan were told to kill to their last breath, and then he begs for the military not to kill him. I truly don't understand these folks. What has terrorism EVER done to make things better?

So, how do we fight a Religious World War? Does one team take off their shirts. (in case you didn't play sports as a kid that was the old shirts vs skins way of making teams)

The war would be ugly, deep, and take many many years and cost so many lives. Fighting over land is one thing, but fighting over belief is another.

To me it seems so simple, you believe what you believe, I believe what I believe and we go about our day, I am NOT going to murder you to show you I am right. And there is no way that there were no deaths in Mumbai that were not of the religion of the terrorists. Are they simply the cost of doing business? The old saying you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.... I mean come on, hasn't everyone ever heard of pop tarts?

I don't mean to vent/rant can't we all get along?

Can't we solve our differences over a game of Capture the Flag... or some coop on campain? Or, in the words of my generation...How about a nice game of chess?
