Three's a Charm

My wife and I have not had anything nice for a long time.  After many years of marriage, we decide to get a nice set of bedroom furniture. We found a super deal at Christmas time with delivery in February.  There were 2 end tables, a vanity with a mirror, a king size bed, and a tall chest of drawers.  It was made our of oak and we were excited.

Delivery came.  As they brought in the furniture,  a slight wave of nausea began to envelop us with each piece.  Slowly but surely we came to the sudden realization that IT WOULDN"T FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Our bedroom was small and we could not fit it all in.  I told her that if we did staggered breathing we might be able to have it all around us.  After an all day affair of moving furniture, spinning furniture, measuring furniture, and rearranging furniture, we got it to fit.  KINDA!!!!!!  My end table is sideways and I have to get in bed slowly each night or I will severely hurt myself  (LOL).  First episode of something not fitting.

Oh no we are not finished yet.  Several weeks later our TV blew.  YES!!!!   I had nothing to do with it.  REALLY.  Anyway we go shopping.  We had a certain size in mind.  However being a male, I saw a larger tv with more features that was a better price.  Really it was even though my wife does not believe me.  I was estatic.  We had a coupe from the store help us wheel it out.  And then a slight wave of nausea began to envelop us as we tried to put it in the car.  BINGO!!!!!!  It wouldn't fit.  How embaraasing.  However I was determined that we were taking that tv home if I had to strap it on my back and walk.  After much anguish, sweat, and strained muscles, we got it in, without the box of course.  Second episode of something not fitting.

What will be the third?   I am sure it is right around the corner.  I will keep you in formed because I am fairly certain that yours truly will do it again.

World at War Short Story

Tom was walking with his squad at dusk when gunfire erupted from the farm houses up ahead. Someone had shoved him down at the last minute and his face became embedded in the mud. A deafening silence soon followed as he realized everyone else was dead. He remained motionless as he was sure an enemy soldier was going to verify he was dead by putting a bullet through his head. However no one came.

After what seemed like an eternity, the light finally disappeared from the sky. The night sounds were all around him. He listened intently to any noise that he could hear to try and determine what was around him and what might be in front og him. He was in a corn field with houses all around the clearing. He had crossed a railroad track a few minutes before the ambush. A tank engine could be heard running somewhere in the distance as well as an occassional shot ringing out. He was all alone. Tom knew that if he could get to the other side of the farm house, he would be safe as his lines were very near to his position. There was a full moon and he was afraid to move. The snipers would get him for sure if he tried to make a run for it.

As he laid there motionless, he noticed that a few clouds hid the light of the moon for a few minutes at a time. He knew if he could time his escape to when they passed overhead, he might be able to run for cover without being shot. He waited and waited and waited. Finally it was time. Darkness was everywhere as the moon was masked in a cloud. He jumped up and stiffly tried to run. He charged through the corn field and narrowly missed running into a tank that was sitting only several hundred yardds away. He kept running as fast as he could. He could hear voices shouting in german nearby but they did not know where he was. As he ran he knew his time was running out. His lungs were threatening to burst from his chest and he forced himself to keep moving as fast as he could. Farther and farther he flew. He was so close to a bombed out house. Just when he was a few feet away, he dove with his last ounce of strength. The moon appeared again even brighter than it was before.

He made it! He was safe. Now as he sat there catchingg his breath, he realized that he was the only survivor. Why him? John had 2 kids. Pete was just married before he was shipped out. Why was he alive and not them. He would never know but as he had heard said before, the only glory in war was surviving. Now he truly knew what that meant. He pulled himself up and slowly worked his way to his lines.

Yes I have too much time sometimes!!!

Irony Strikes Again

Yahoo!!!   Wife is home.  All is well with the world.  I have missed her all weekend and couldn't wait for her to be back.

However I goofed up big time.  My wife calls me and says that she will be back in an hour.  I am sitting there anxiously waiting.  Guess what.  I fall asleep in the chair.  I wake up to a ringing phone.  My wife is calling me quite upset because I had locked the outside doors and she could not get in.  Her first words to me was "Boy you missed me a lot. You have me locked out of the house and you weren't even waiting for me to return."  OOOOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all that.

Oh well I am forgiven!!!!!

Tribute to Women

This is my second day of wife being away and boyh have I realized many things about womankind in general.  Guys listen up.

They are the real strength behind all we do.  They  motivate us, move us, and help us to be more than we could ever be by ourselves.  They love us when we don't love ourselves.  They help us hope when we want to give up.   They take care of us and help us look half way decent even when we could care less about what we look like.  They take care of our homes and families even when we fail to acknowledge all they do.  They defend us often when we are wrong and love us when we are right.

To all woman kind, I salute you.  Yes and boy do I miss my wife!!!!!

Absence does make Heart Fonder

My wife left to go to my daughter'shower for the weekend.  Party time right.  Boy am I missing her already.  Everything is so quiet without her around.  I mean that in a good way.  Her laughter over the dumbest things and how she loved to sit by our gas logs in the evening.  All is amiss.

I guess this is my only outlet of communication so I am blogging my heart on a key board.  She is trying to grow red turnips on Animal Crossing and I even watered them in her dumb game.  I hope to get heavily involved in games tonight.  We have been married 9 years and it has been the best years of my life.  I never let on how much I ws going to miss her as I wanted her to have a great time.

Oh well I have to go make some noise.  Two days to go.  Will I make it?   The jury is still out on this one.
