ignition...
Just a little update, first is a vid I shot of some techniques I'm working on, I love the bat-symbol relief, and the guide button (I might use it as the locking mechanism on crocs cell) I dont loke how the morter in the seams came out so I wont be doing big brick work, sorry about the sound my little one is watching dora. Next is some shotts of the thruster port, I am using a 12vt 19 led car rear break lamp bulb to illuminate it, the pictures really dont do it justice the glow shows through the paint on the nozzle just enough yo make it look like its glowing red hot...

Overdue update
Well it has been a month since my last update, and a lot has happened in that month. Lets see I found out I'm gonna have another baby (my wife just cant keep her legs closed) that will make 3. and of course things have been tight money wise, so I have had to make a lot of compromises. well lets try to get caught up on my progress. I have my batman figure, and decided that I was going to include a holding cell for killer croc (only because I got a killer deal on him... he he...) I have been through about 5 different versions of the cave, nothing was working, every technique I tried failed miserably, and finally I decided not to worry about stalagmites and shit and I stumbled on the final technique by accident and I think it looks great (but I will let you guys be the judge of that) I am also going to have to shrink down the batcomputer, I have no choice with the addition of the croc cell. I am also probably going to have 3 small screens instead of the one big one, I also got the control console done all will be printed on transparency paper and back-lit. Killer crocs cell is a test for the back wall of the batcave, it is still a little rough on the paint as I still have to airbrush everything. Please be honest and critical, that's the only way this project will be the best it can be. Thanks for all your Patience and support... 2 months to go...

Again thanks for stickin with me... more to come...

batcomputer update
Well I am still waiting on my break light assembly and some other stuff so I have just been messing around. Here is an adaptor that I made for the power supply (to bend it 90 deg. so the thick long plug can run parallel to the side panel.) I made it from an intercooler fan. Also I started work on the main monitor to the batcomputer. I am happy with the overall shape and design, but not with the finish. I have to find something that will curve to the shape, but still cover up the underneath, so I guess this is a trial version, any ideas would be welcome.

The screen is made from a transparencylayed on top of two sheets of white stencil plastic, so the light in the box actually makes it look like a comp screen backlit, I know it is hard to tell from the pics I'll try to take a pick in the dark to see what it looks like.
this is just a little update on the pillar, added the fan and some conduit inside the deep cracks so you could believe that there was power going to it, hope it isnt too small, when this gets paint it is gonna be sweet.

One lowly pillar @ a time...
Ok so I like the idea from batman begins that the batcave is actually under part of the mansion, so that’s why I am going with the weathered columns. My goal is to contrast 3 elements, the rock of the cave, brick and steal gerters, (20's era) and high tech. By the time I get through with this project I’m either gonna have to wittle it down, or write a book. I'm trying to document every step, no matter how mundane, just so there is a record. Right now everything I’m doing is a rough state; it will probably be late Oct. or Nov. before I start painting and airbrushing, to make all the little details pop. I think I'm gonna start work on the batcomputer next, I am guaranteeing it is gonna be bad ass. I am also including a pic of Brooks' (my son) bed the desk this is where everything is gonna sit, the bunk bed gives it a cave like feel anyway.

This is the future home of the batcave, and the Xmobile...

Batcave...
I'm starting work on the batcave diorama and wanted to get some input. This is just my initial rough sketch. The diorama will measure 3 feet 6 inches wide, by 2' 6" tall, and the roof will extend out 6 inches. I will be using foam and paper mache to create the walls and ceiling, then covering it in resin. I hope to start this weekend so keep your thoughts coming for as much support as I'm getting I kind of consider this a community project.
