Well maybe not "ever", but definitely good for a few laughs!
Dr Killinger posted this in our forums and so many of us thought it was so funny that we created a "Gift Shop" game type during clan night. The language makes the video NSFW so I recommend that you keep the volume down or wait until you get home. The exchange between the two is really what makes the video worth watching.
Apologize if this has already been posted...I don't always check the blogs.
Exclusive: Modern Warfare 2 Continues to Blow Up All Expectations
Posted December 9, 2009 by DFC Intelligence
During the month of November, DFC Intelligence looked at product usage of Xbox 360 games using the GamerDNA audience as a sample. What quickly became clear was how massive a hit Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been. We all know that Modern Warfare 2 had a huge launch, but perhaps more impressive has been its staying power. Other games have had big launches but they tend to slow down rather quickly.
For example, Grand Theft Auto IV, which released in late April 2008, quickly soared to over 25% daily usage among the GamerDNA audience (meaning on a given day 25% of the audience played the game). However, by mid-May usage was down to around 15% and by the end of May it was about 10% of the GamerDNA audience. This is somewhat surprising as GTA IV is known as a product with a great deal of play time.
Of course, one caveat, it should be noted that while this data tracks both single and multiplayer usage, it only does it for consumers that have a connection to Xbox Live. We expect that Modern Warfare 2 had a higher percentage of Xbox Live users versus GTA IV. However, we do not think this had a major impact on the overall usage numbers. Other Xbox 360 first-person shooter products, including Halo 3 and Gears of War 2, showed drop-offs more similar to GTA IV than Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 never reached the 25% usage level, but it should be noted that the Xbox 360 base has both diversified and grown significantly in the past 18 months. What is most notable is that the usage continued steady between 15-20% a day through the month of November. This was even true as several other products competing for user time were launched in mid-November, most notably Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassin's Creed II.
However, neither Left 4 Dead 2 nor Assassin's Creed II could do anything to derail the Modern Warfare 2 train. Both these games showed decent usage, but nothing that could even touch the level of Modern Warfare 2. Furthermore, it was clear that users of Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassin's Creed II were by and large also players of Modern Warfare 2, but the reverse was not necessarily true. For example, in the U.K. and Germany over 80% of Left 4 Dead 2 users also played Modern Warfare 2, while the number of Modern Warfare 2 users that also played Left 4 Dead 2 was only 13% in the U.K. and 16% in Germany.
These are GamerDNA users of one game that also played the other game at least once on Xbox Live.
Given the overwhelming success of Modern Warfare 2, DFC expects that the title will smash all records. Using GamerDNA data we estimate that the game could have sold as much as 4.2 million units in the U.S. alone. However, it should be noted that this type of success actually breaks the scale of the DFC model and is far outside the norm.
Unfortunately it appears many other November products did not perform as well, including Band Hero, Tony Hawk Ride and the Lego titles. Clearly this shows the dominance of the Xbox 360 as a first-person shooter platform, but it also is another indication of the increasing disparity between the major hits and everything else.

Pork Chop Platoon has generously agreed to host a kick off event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Up for grabs is bragging rights and a chance at a pair of Triton Headphones.
The Tourney will be a Free-For All and held on Friday November 13th at 10PM EST. The plan is to have four rooms, and the top players from each room advance to two second tier rooms. The winners from those rooms will converge in a final battle, where the victor takes home the spoils. Each round will be about 10 minutes, and if I know anything about PCP, expect fun gametypes, a few laughs, and a kick ass MW2 experience. All skills levels are welcome!
Sounds fun but I'm not into Tournaments
Not interested in the tournament, but you still want to play? The plan is that once the winners advance to the next room, the host can invite people in and the remaining players can have fun a la community playdate. So bring some friends along or meet some new one!
So what Free stuff do I win?
Ah yes, the free stuff. Winners of the FFA will be added into the SCC (Senior Citizen Card) members giveaway pool. In order to thank the people of the site for all their support with V3 and 2o2p, we will be randomly selecting members of the SCC to receive a pair of Triton Headphones and other Triton goodies. The winners of this tournament will also have their names thrown into the pool.
Sound interesting? We think so too. So if you are new to the Modern War series or a veteran we hope to see all of you Friday November 13th at 10PM EST. What better way to kick off Modern War 2 then a community tournament and playdate. See you all there!
So: to sum up. FFA tournament where winners advance from room to room. Playdate once the winners advance out of the room.
If you are interested in the tournament: please post below. Please specify your clan and you will be notified as to your room assignments.
Any questions? PM either J-Cat, LordKerdaq, PowerMacAttack or MrSleestak
VERY IMPORTANT......
For the tourney: please make a FR to
a2o2proom1
if that is full....
a2o2proom2
AND if that is full....
a2o2proom3
And if that is full... well ... guess you are screwed (nah... we would just make more rooms)
Please send your friend requests ASAP as this is the only way we can make this tourney/mixer work. Thanks to all that have signed up and we looked forward to a great night of gaming!
So my wife recently completed nursing school, passed her boards, and started he first full time job in several years this week. Last night she mentioned that she would really like to do something special for me this Christmas since she felt that I was very supportive of her and her decision to change careers. I reminded her that I only need for her to be supportive of my decision to go to grad school and that there was nothing else that I needed.....
Infinity Ward announced at a press event in Los Angeles today that, to commemorate the release of the game, Microsoft will be releasing a brand new model of the Xbox 360 based on Modern Warfare 2.
This new console will be black, with Modern Warfare 2 branding, and will also come packing a 250GB HDD (so, yes, it is real), a copy of the game and two wireless controllers. It'll be $399, available on November 10, and is already available for preorder.
