Just a little response to my last blog.....

I would not have to worry about a job.  I would simply transfer with my company.  I do work for GE so moving around in the company isn't too hard....especially if you have a good track record already.

Next, on to the point about living in Europe.  I lived in England for 2 years.  That is probably where we would start...........either there or Ireland.  So yes, I have experienced the European lifestyle. 

This is all just something I've been thinking about more and more.  How many people actually get to say they haved lived in different countries and really experienced life?  I don't want to sit around when I'm 60 having regrets about not doing things that I 'should have done'.   It's not a mid-life crisis either.  If it were, I'd go without the wife and just do it on my own.   

We'll see what happens....we've got to wait a bit since we just moved into the house, but it's something nice to start planning for when the economy turns around as it will.

Happy New Year?

Well, I had a blog that I previously written this year, but decided to start completely over.  I wanted to start off fresh and happy this time around. 

I have been takling with the wife about the possibility of moving over seas to Europe for a while.  This won't happen SOON, but may happen in the next 2 years or so.  I'd like to live in Italy for a while and my wife would like to try out Ireland as she has family there.  If you have seen my forum post, I am asking about the Rosetta Stone software because I'd like to learn Italian........my dad never taught me before he died so I figured it would be nice to experience a bit of what he experienced.

Anyways, I feel that moving oversears for a few years is something that many people only wish they could do.  In reality it is something that people can do if they put a little time and effort into figuring out what needs to be done and how to go about it. 

So, that is kinda my game plan.......sorta.  If the wife wants to stay put, we can do that too.  Just something I thought would be an experience of a lifetime.  I'm realizing more and more each day that you only live once.  So basically, fuck it.  Do what you want to do...........as long as it doesn't hurt others. Travel and see the world.  Don't be 80, laying in your death bed going, "Man, I wish I would have done that".  DO IT NOW!  It will be something that can last a lifetime.  We'll see where my little idea goes to, but I'm not bothered either way, it's something I'd like to do, but not something that would kill me if I didn't do.  I will get to Italy within the next 5 years though............to visit for a few weeks.
