Low Standards

This is copied from a police forum for cops in Arkansas. I have nothing against police but if you can be this stupid and still become a cop why should anyone show you respect. Being able to spell and speak properly should be a requirement for any law enforcement officer!

Hey all.

I just wanted to post this here.

I moved to Missouri from California about a month ago, last week I turned in some applications. Yesterday I got a call from a chief of one of the departments in Arkansas and had an interview today. I have about 10 years of experience, but none sworn. I was an explorer for 4.5 years, worked security for 2 and then worked as a Tribal Ranger on a Federal Indian Reservation for 3 years. We were the only law enforcement on the reservation and the only ones who patroled it and responded to calls. If a crime occured, then, under Public Law 280, the local SO would have jurisdiction. But we were the only ones there 24/7, we had powers of arrest over native americans only on the reservation on-duty.

The chief said he has to looking to working in one state (Arkansas), and living in another (Missouri), but it looks promising. He is seemed concerned that the only ties I have to the area is my Fiance, and if she looses her job than I would have no place to live, and we would have to move. But that is not likely. The people she works for love us, so no worries there, plues I love it out here, I would just see if I could get a house out here. I want to stay out here no matter what.

I think he wants me, at least it seemed that way, but said it is not up to him, he lets his supervisors decided on who gets hired, becasue HE does not work with the patrol staff, they do. Which I thought was cool. Its a small dept only 10 officers.

He pretty much told me that I would be working night shift, and I would be assigned a unit, not a take home, but assigned none the less, and I think it would be a 1998 CVPI as he said it was the oldest they have. He also said that I would have to go through the academy a min of 3 months, then I will be a "trained officer" then after a year I will be certified.

But it all depends on if the state line is a problem, but if it depends on residency, I have a PO box in the state, so I can always get a AR state license, based on the PO Box, I have seen it done before, so I am hoping that will be the Loop Hole if it comes down to it.

I looked up on the Commissions website today, and there is no requirement that states that I have to live in the state. It also says that I have to have a Valid Drivers License, not even mentioning that I have to have one ISSUED from THAT STATE. So it looks pretty good so far, I just hope my credit will not be an issue, but people make mistakes, and I am still paying for them, but in time.....

But for now, it seems like I maybe in, just have to go for another interview infront of the "board" of other officers and do background.

ALL equipment is issued, from uniforms, belts, gear, and firearms, which is suprising seeing how it is a very small department.

Come on Sunday!

Yeah it's Friday and I'm excited, but what I'm really looking forward to is Sunday Football. Last Sunday was a great football day, all kinds of great games and even better plays.  I have been a football fan since I was a little girl, getting up on Sundays and spending the day watching football with my dad was something I looked forward to every weekend.  Since moving to a different town Sundays have become a BIG TIME lazy day for me, instead of loading up and heading home for a fresh start on Monday I almost always end up staying Sunday night at the house with Smoke (an hour away). It's no big deal for me to wake up early most of the time, plus it's a lot more fun to watch Sunday night football on the big screen.  I cheat though, so it's not on me I ask our daughter what she wants and she always wants to stay lol  I hope this Sunday's games are as awesome as lat weeks, there were some crazy plays I want to see even crazier plays this week

On a different note, today is the first game of the ALCS and I hope those bastards at work let me watch the game. GO YANKEES! I know I know most of you hate the Yankees, SUCK IT I don't care what you like!

So Lost

This is my first morning on the computer in a while because I've been so busy trying to get clients and keep busy.  Where did site chat go? I was hoping to get in chat and catch up but that just didn't happen. 

Peggle rules my life, Friday night - Up till 4am (Sat. morning) playing Peggle. Saturday night - up 'till 3am (Sun. Morning) playing Peggle. Sunday was Football so Peggle was on the back burner. 

LAN '09

Wednesday: XS Smoke & I arrived a little after 4pm, first we took our stuff to the hotel then we went over to Doodi's house for some video games and steaks. According to DSmooth you are not suppose to take a breath between drags on your cigarette, hot boxing nut-ball. XS Smoke played way too much Geo Wars 2 and Doodi's dog looks like a cat. BC and Fade made me laugh my ass off with some crazy shit they were saying.

Thursday: Slept in 'till 8am (I tried to sleep later, just couldn't) and got Smoke to get up and go have breakfast with me. Then we made our way over to Target for a tank top and Magic cards lol. While I wass trying to find Smoke I found Fetal, he looks so sleepy. I think he went back to the hotel for like a 3 hour nap. We hung out in the bar waiting on people to show up. Gradually people started pouring in, most of Profanity was there before dark.

Thursday Night: The Profanity dinner was awesome, thankfully no one ate Fred. However we were some loud muther fuckers in that place, I can't believe we didn't get thrown out lol. Must have been DSmooth & Taxi with their sweet talking to the waitress. Fetal ordered wine which was too yummy because I kept wanting more, walking to the bathroom was not easy.

Friday: Slept a little later, I think it was around 9am when I got up. I let Smoke sleep and I went to IHop with a group of Profanity and some others. J-Cat was there with us, it was great meeting her, Canadians are funny people. Or maybe it's the "Yeah 'eh" that gets me lol. I couldn't eat all my breakfast, I tried to pawn my pancakes off on LB Sutke but he didn't eat them, and the leftover omelet I took back to Smoke. It was a slow day for set up, but it was nice and relaxing. This was the most layed back LAN I've been to, it was great. Got all the tv's and started setting up. Everytime Smoke or I turned our tv on it would crash the breaker or whatever, that sucked. But they got it fixed and the gaming begins.

Saturday: I slept in late and didn't get up in time for breakfast. Lots of gaming, the FFA Tournament, the GoW Tournament & Rock Band Tournament. ThurnderPwn was a lot of fun, I like the dice game because it's so easy you can play it drunk lol. I'm not saying much more, if you want to know about the rest of the awesomeness of the LAN you need to show up next year lol.

It was great seeing everyone from LAN's before and metting new people. Hope to see them all again next year.
