White Christmas

As a few of you may have read from an earlier posting, my father has been fighting cancer since last November. I moved to my parents' house to help them out in April.

Long story short, today we had a white Christmas today here in Dallas, Texas. Just the grass and trees were covered but it is still awesome.

I'll consider it a Christmas gift from God. It might be our last Christmas with my dad.

Man VS Wild

I am always highly entertained by new episodes of Man vs. Wild, but the last two weeks have been incredible.  Last week was nothing short of amazing. He plodded through the snow, wrestled a reindeer by the antlers (killed and ate it), dragged its carcass through the wilderness, fell down a frozen waterfall, purposefully dove into icy waters naked and showed everyone at home how much a loser Suvivorman is as he sits in his backyard eating peanut butter after his truck runs out of gas.

This week, I was certain, could not top last week's snowy adventure. I was dead wrong! Slaughtering a wild boar, spelunker in complete darkness and getting stuck waste deep in mud IN a river is just scratching the surface. This man shows you how to make fire, shelter, hunt and gather food and he has a blast doing it.

If I was you, and you haven't seen this show yet, I would go watch it ASAP. Just let the manliness sink in as you watch it... I know damn well I'm not going to do that stuff on my own.

New to Geocaching

Read about geocaching for the first time a few weeks ago, right here on 2old2play!

About a week later I met a girl who is knee deep in the hobby. Last night she took me on my first caching run. VERY fun stuff - we found 3, and got DNF's (did not find) on 2 others.

I will definitely be doing this again... next time with some bug spray.
