Drama in Gaming World
Now I was going to stay out of this until I was personally attacked by someone in another blogs comments about not having a brain.
I am another former member of PCP that was given the boot yesterday dude to "inactivity." On the day before I was given the boot I was gaming with two PCP members that are not in ARXV. I made it to clan night just a week ago and I post in the forums almost on a daily basics. Not sure how that could be concider "inactive" but I guess in someones eyes it was.
In Meemoos blog it was stated that the COC of PCP was in place before the forming of ARXV. Yet in there is states that some members of PCP will be grandfathered in do to the fact of us not having this in place before hand. No those are not the words verbatim but you get the base of the understanding. Every since ARXV has formed anytime something goes wrong in PCP it some how gets blamed on ARXV. If you are the biggest clan in 2o2p with over 200 members how can your problems be blamed on a clan that has less the 50 members?
Lets get back to my reason for the boot "inactivity." It is true that I have not been to clan night before last week in awhile, but gaming is not my life. I have a daughter who is in high school and she is in the band. When is clan night, Friday nights. When do high school football teams play and the band preforms, Friday nights. So no I'm not going to miss my daughter's band performance to show up to clan night. The school she goes to is McGavock. A lot of people might not know, but if your from TN you should know that this school has one of the better bands. So there is a lot of practices and contest that they have which in turn means I am not at home gaming. I have sent pictures to the Blackberry group i am in which has ALL PCP members in there of their practices. So they have been informed as to why I was not gaming. Their have been several nights that I have gamed in a room with both PCP and ARXV members. Some times the ARXV room will pick up PCP members so that the PCP members are not gaming by their selves. So I am not sure how I have been "inactive." Maybe I have been active with the wrong members of PCP. I'm not sure. PCP had a LAN back in August in Pitt. I live in TN which is an 8-9 hour drive depending on traffic. I made it there yet one of the "active" members of PCP lives there and didn't make it. At this time PCP had about 150 members and out of them only about 15-20 members made it out. If I was "inactive" why did I take time off work and make that drive?

Bosses concerned about Facebook, Twitter
This from the Nashville Business Journal
http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/stories/2009/05/18/daily15.html
A good chunk — 60 percent — of executives believe they have a right to know how employees portray themselves and their companies on online social networks, according to a Deloitte LLP survey.
But 53 percent of employees say content posted on their Facebook and Twitter accounts are not a boss’s concern.
That belief is even more prevalent among younger workers. Sixty-three percent of workers ages 18 to 34 say employers have no business looking at their online activity.
But most employees (74 percent) recognize that using online social networks makes it easier to tarnish a company’s reputation.
“With the explosive growth of online social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, rapidly blurring the lines between professional and private lives, these virtual communities have increased the potential of reputational risk for many organizations and their brands,” said Sharon Allen, board chairman of Deloitte. “It is important for executives to be mindful of the implications of this connected world and to elevate the discussion about the risks associated with it to the highest levels of leadership.”
Just 17 percent of executives have formal ways to monitor the possible risks related to social network use. But nearly half (49 percent) of employees say such strict guidelines would not change their behavior online.
More than 2,000 employed adults — half men and half women — were interviewed for the survey, as well as 500 business executives.

Dad hammers Wyo. teen's phone
This is why you keep a better eye on what your kids are doing.
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_12097656
CHEYENNE — In one month, a Cheyenne teenager sent 10,000 text messages and received about the same — all while her family's plan did not include texting.
That means the family's provider — Verizon — charged them for each incoming and outgoing text message.
The girl's parents, Gregg and Jaylene Christoffersen, thought texting had been disabled, so one can imagine their surprise when they got the monthly phone bill and it asked for $4,756.25.
"It just hit us like a rock, like you're stepping into a bus," Gregg Christoffersen said.
The bill was legit.
Dena Christoffersen, 13, had apparently been sending most of these messages at school. That's more than 300 texts within an eight-hour period every
day for the whole month.
Needless to say, it drew attention away from what she should have been doing: paying attention in class.
"She went from A's and B's one semester to F's in two months," Dena's dad said.
Hours after the enormous bill arrived, Gregg Christoffersen took a hammer to his daughter's phone.
He and Jaylene also grounded Dena until the end of school.
"I felt really bad, and I have learned my lesson," Dena said, with her head down.
Since she lost her phone, Dena's grades have gone up, and the texting is down to zero.
As for the phone bill, the family says Verizon has been willing to knock it down to a reasonable level.
The Christoffersens are asking school administrators at Johnson Junior High School to crack down on cellphone use during school.

Tennessee to ban texting while driving.
I think this is a good thing. My daughter is about to start driving and I don't want her to text while she is driving.
Tennessee House Panel OKs Ban on Texting-while-Driving
April 9, 2009
A proposal to prohibit texting while driving has advanced out of the House Transportation Committee despite the vocal objections of some members of the panel.
Pegram Republican Rep. Phillip Johnson noted that drivers can already be pulled over for text messaging under the state's existing distracted driver law.
East Ridge Republican Rep. Vince Dean, who is a retired police officer, questioned whether police would be able to tell whether drivers were texting or dialing phone numbers.
The measure sponsored by Bristol Republican Rep. John Lundberg was advanced to the House Finance Committee on a voice vote after the panel added a provision that would require posting road signs about the law.
The companion bill is awaiting a vote in the Senate Finance Committee.

No life
I am new to this blogging thing so here goes my shot at blogging. I have come to the conclusion that I must have no life. Yesterday I signed up for Facebook after already having a Myspace. Then today I sign up for a Twitter account after yesterdays saying that I was not going to do that. I think that I have the "Keep up with the Jones' syndrome." If it is the latest greatest thing I must get on the bandwagon.
