More TRON Goodness

So yesterday a new message was found on the discussion boards posted by Zack Attack asking if the Flynn Lives Faithful were "worthy". Clicking on the link in that thread led to this little Classic Video Game Mindbender.

If you are able to guess all 50 of the correct answers, then you are given the opportunity to create an Encom Employee ID.

As many of you may know, Encom is the company that Kevnin Flynn created and that went on to make games like TRON and Space Paranoids within the TRON lexicon. Speculation is that there are several upcoming events related to the TRON Legacy Flynn Lives viral campaign that will require possesion of an Encom employee ID for entry. So if you have not done so already, head on over to the Flynn Lives message boards and test your classic video game knowledge and hopefully score yourself a badge. If you need a little help with some of the answers, a dedicated group of Kevin Flynn loyalists may be able to help you.
More Stills From the TRON Legacy Movie Trailer
As people are picking over the recently released TRON Legacy Trailer, more stills are being released. Here are a few of the best so far.

So You Think You Are a Gears Fan? Check This Out!
So the awesme folks over at Gamer Grafix are working on something very cool for our Gamers Gone Wild party at PAXEast on March 27th. Omega for GG is creating a Custom Dom Santiago themed Gears of War Xbox Elite to be given away during our event. You really have to check out this guy's work to believe it.

Original Design Sketches

Dom Santiago will be featured as part of this mod design

The Xbox 360 Elite before work began

Custom DVD Cover

Custom Case Cut-aways

Custom Gears Omen Tag

Case Mock-up

Custom Hard Drive Cover
Once this fine machine is all finished, Carlos Ferro, the voice of Dom Santiago, will put the finishing touches on the system by signing it. This will definitely be a One-of-A-Kind Xbox that would make an excellent addition to any Gears fan's collection.
So You Want To Own This Beast?
You can enter to win this custom beauty by heading over to the Gamer Grafix Forums and buying raffle tickets. The winner will be chosen by Dom Santiago (Carlos Ferrro) himself at our Gamers Gone Wild Event. You need not be present to win and 50% of all proceeds from tickets bought will be donated to benefit

Win A VIP Pass to Gamers Gone Wild and Play Gears of War 2 with Dom Santiago
In addition to having an opportunity to own this awesome custom Gears of War themed Xbox 360 Elite, you can also enter to win a VIP Pass to our Gamers Gone Wild Party. This pass will get you open access to all areas of Lir during the event and will also provide you with a chance to play Gears of War 2 against Dom Santiago (Carlos Ferro) himself. To enter to win the Gears of War VIP Pass for our Gamers Gone Wild Party, simply follow me on Twitter and retweet any announcments that I post regarding this contest, along with the phrase "I will be there" so I know that you are actually planning to attend our event during PAXEast in Boston at the end of this month. For every message that you retweet, you will receive one entry into the drawing. We will have Carlos Ferro draw the winner at our event.
REMEMBER: To be eligible to win the Gears of War VIP Pass, you MUST be present at the Gamers Gone Wild Party, brought to you by 2old2play and SFX-360 on Saturday, March 27th at Lir in Boston

PAXEast is Just 18 Days Away!
I cannot wait for March 26th to get here and all the PAXEast madness to begin. There is so much going one during the fourth week of this month that I am taking a full 5 days off work so I can soak it all in. My PAXEast experience will officially kick off at 10 am on Wednesday the 24th when Ross (aka Pallidian) and Julie (Lady J) from SFX-360 arrive in Beantown for the week's festivities. We plan to take care of some logistics for our Gamers Gone Wild Event (be there, you will NOT want to miss this party) and then check out a few early events. Thursday is chock full of cool warm-up events, including the PA Community Dinner, Pokemon Bar Crawl and a some very special industry parties or which I am not allowed to speak upon threat of dismemberment. Friday kicks off the real fun as the PAXEast doors swing open at 2:00 pm. I have a ton of meetings set up with various game developers and other industry folks, so stay tuned to this blog for audio (and hopefully video) coverage of all the PAXEast goodness. Then at 3:30 I join DSmooth, Codemonkey and Wombat & Kareem Harper from CheapAssGamer for our panel on Online Gaming Communities and "Real Life" Relationships . So far DSmooth has neglected to forward me an outline or any other indication of what is expected of me during the panel, so be sure to join us for the unscripted chaos and "Pure Excellence" that only we can bring you. I still have not locked down plans for my Friday night "post-PAX" activities, but I am sure that I will have way too many options by the time the eveing rolls around. Lucky me, I have a press pass which grants me early access on Saturday, so I will be lugging my tired (and certainly hung over) butt out of bed around 6 am to make it to the press preview by 8:30 in the wee morn. I think I might have to snag an Irish breakfast (Guiness and hashbrowns in my book) before setting myself loose on the exhibit hall. Around 4 pm we will start to set up for Gamers Gone Wild at Lir. Doors open at 7pm and word of mouth has been insane, so be sure to get there early if you want to get in to meeting Carlos Ferro (the voice of Dom Santiago) and the other special guests we have lined up for this event. The party ends at 1 am, at which time I get to drive 20 minutes North to my bed to sleep for a few hours before starting the madness all over again at 10 am on Sunday. I have most of my developers' meetings scheduled for that day, hoping to be able to mellow a bit and check out what everyone has in store for us in Q3/Q4 2010 (IF I can see straight - I have a bad feeling everything will look like IMAX in 3D without the glasses after Saturday night). Once the halls to the Hynes Convention Center closes its doors and everyone is headed home, then I head out to an industry mixer to meet up with podcasters, developers and other folks on Sunday evening to wrap it all up. Supposedly I am supposed to be at work at my "real" job at 9 am on Monday the 29th. But somehow, I already feel a bit of a flu coming on *cough cough*.
And Now for Something Completely Different . . . .
TRON LEGACY TRAILER IS LIVE!

More Tron Pix and PAXEast Updates
In following along with the Flynn Lives ARG/Viral Campaign in support of the new Tron Legacy Movie coming out in December of this year, numerous new web sites and news "leaks" have been popping up all over the place. Most notably, the Tron Facebook Fans Page has been posting still pics from the trailer that I was able to see in NYC last Saturday. If you want to catch a glimpse of this trailer live, it will be shown before IMAX screenings of Alice in Wonderland this weekend. Inthe meantime, here are a few shots from that page.

There are also a ton of ancilliary fan pages for both TRON Legacy and Flynn Lives popping up all over the place. One includes links to an unofficial "TRON Reboot" video series that is pretty funny. Here is Episode 2 from said series.
Along with with release of the movie, the developers at Machima will be releasing a new TRON-themed video game in December, TRON Evolution. Check out this preview video. Looks damn cool.
Remeber to visit Unfiction's Flynn Lives ARG Page for the most up to date info on the viral campaign.
PAXEAST Update - Gamers Gone Wild Momentum Picks Up
For those of you who will be attending PAXEast here in Boston, it is only 3 weeks away now and things are really beginning to ramp up. We have added several new sponsors for our Gamers Gone Wild Party, including Funspot and the American Coin-op Arcade Museum, who will be providing $20 Funspot gift cards for distribution during out event. We also are working on another special Celebrity VIP guest who you will not want to miss. So stay tuned for more updates very soon.
If you would like a chance to meet Carlos Ferro and our other industry VIP's during this event, stay tuned for details on how you can enter our "Meet the Veeps" contest.
Finally, we are still looking for folks who can help us out by volunteering to work during our GGW event assisting with logistics and crowd control. The first 10 volunteers to sign up will receive a FREE 2old2play T-shirt and will have full access to the venue. If you are interested in helping us out, PM me. The only stiuplation is that you have to have been a registered member of 2old2play prior to February 28th of this year (this is to prevent folks signing up just to get access to the party).
