COMPANIES THAT LAY PEOPLE OFF AT THE HOLIDAYS

News is slow so i'm just going to rant a bit.

Companies that lay people off after Halloweed are total and complete douchebags.  Do they think about the impact it has on people laying employees off during this time or do they just care about the bottom line?  Of course it's the latter.

IF you lay people off in November and December, they need to go in Unemployment Insurance.  Since November and December are typically really slow months for hiring people, the person you just laid off burns through two months of UI pay-outs without being able to do much if anything about it.  Sure maybe there's some holiday work at a retail store but career jobs are a lot harder to come by.  So now they actually only have 4 months to find a job once the new year rings in until UI payouts end since UI only pays out for 6 months (I guess it could be different in other states).

So now the person can't find a job and it's the holidays.  Is there any a more demanding time for money than the holidays?  So not only have you fucked the person that used to work for you loyally but you've fucked their holiday as well and you've fucked their family.  Not nearly as many gifts under the tree, probably don't want to spend money to travel to family if they live far away, don't want to do much for New Years since that's a pointless waste of money.

If you're a boss and you lay someone off after October, you are nothing but a total and complete fucking nasty used douchebag and i give you a double middle finger salute.
