god bless tax season

you know you love this time of year. at least i hope you do. cause if your paying out, then please, close this blog right now, I dont want to wake up with you standing over me with a gold fish, some chicken wire, and 46 cans of mayo ready to do only GOD knows what. but for the rest of us, i got my tax cash back! and i already blew it. $1,200 dollars never goes as far as you might think it will. but it was SO worth it. first off, needed a new Amp for my guitar, getting a little rusty casue i was getting bored with my sounds, and sometimes thats all you gotta do is mix it up. So i got myself a nice new Spider amp. sounds sweet. woke my roommate up with it at max to show him how sweet it was. it took him 3 hours to forgive me and admit that its a beast. But, i bought myself something that every gamer needs in life. A PS3. now i know there are alot of people who hate the machine, for a variety of reasons. but the truth is, it is a monster. Metal Gear Solid 4 looks and plays amazing, and it by standards is an older title.killzone 2, sexy looking shooter. infamous, very addictive. i also have MAG but am waiting to have some serious time to get into it. all in all, im super happy with everything. i have more stuff to play with, my godson loves my amp and @ 3 years old the only thing that makes him sit still is when i play guitar, so its well worth the cash. and i got a great new system that allows me to go into full geek mode for the next year without apology. I love taxes.

new jobs are wierd.....

So i started a new job back in july. its nothing fancy, office work at a towing company. its nothing new for me, i did it for years when my uncle owned a company here in st louis. he sold it to a bunch of freaks, i quit, they got in trouble with the FBI. thats the way of the towing world. very dramatic and annoying. but now im at it again. my uncle is the GM for one of the biggest towing firms in st louis, and they say, " we need to bring in people that can help us grow, make us bigger and better." i get a phone call. now dont get me wrong, im good at my job. i have alot of pride and make sure that everything i do is right. but when a company that is 3 times the size of the one i ran for my uncle asks me to be "the guy", it gets a little bit intimidating. i like being the guy, i like the responsibility, but when someone says " this kid can run your buisness and you never have to show up again", thats freaky. it makes you feel small, no matte rhow good you are, because you are looking up at everything praying you dont F up. any way it goes, i love my job, and would recomend anyone that has any type of common sense to get into a field such as this early on, say in college. it gives you diversity into so many areas, customer service, accounting, sales, its jst a good all around buisness to learn at. and besides, when a guy like me with a GED and 4 years in the Navy can do something that makes him enough money to live on comfortably, you just cant go wrong.

greatest day of my life

on weds i went to a little rock concert called the rockstar mayhem festival. its like the new ozzfest. all heavy bands, cool tents and merch. to pick up, and it just so happened to be one of the greatest days of my life. When we arrived, we missed the first band and i was a little upset about that, because i really wanted to see god forbid, but things happen. so as we are watching the metal mulisha do backflips in a parking lot on a motorcycle( if you have never seen that done in person, its a trip) my friend tells me my favorite band, All That Remains is getting ready to play. we watched the set, it was awsome, and i was exhausted. so as we are checking out other bands, i get the word that ATR is haging out at the rockstar tent signing stuff and meeting fans, so you know i'm there. i get in, get to meet the band and talk to them for a few minutes, got a cool new tip for my guitar playing, and then these guys thank me for hanging out. i'm think, " me? thank you for coming here and being really cool and giving me guitar tips", and the guys tell me how much they love to meet fans, and that talking to the fans reminds them of what it was like to be like me, on the other side of the fence. so i got to meet and share a drink with my favorite band, got some tips to make me a better guitarist, and see a great concert from begining to end. this was flat out one of the best days of my life........

who mattered more, farrah or MJ?

i know, this is going to be a stupid debate, but im just curious as to if anyone has any thoughts on this. i mean, JAckson was one of the greatest performers of his generation, and the guy made people happy all over the world. but farrah made young boys all over the world happy too, just in a different way. i'm just curious if anyone thinks Mike tainted his legacy too much by paying off families to keep quiet. who will you miss more and why?

Gaming While Intoxicated and the various results.....

ok, now i'm the first person to admit i loves me some beer. and not even good stuff but the cheap case of busch beer gets me every time. i dont know why but thats just who i am. and im actually really ok with being a cheap ass. But i think my problem lies with my addiction to GWI. GWI is as the title of this suggests, getting hammered and trying to game. and anyone in the clan that i frequent can tell you, clan night is the perfect excuse to GWI. but i haven't until recently noticed the various results that come from all the consumption. first off, i cant hit shit. i dont think i could hit water if i fell out of a boat on friday night. second off, all the tactics that we work on throughout the week go right out the window. i turn into rabid ass timmie running circles around everything. i even throw a few figure 8's in for entertainment. i spend at least 10 minutes every night trying to stick c4 to myself or someone else knowing it cant be done, but i try it anyway. and i constantly try and get people in canada and the UK to adopt me, but im 27 and way past that stage. so i'm thinking i might have me a small problem. i say small because the enjoyment i get from all the other intoxicated folks is just too good to pass up. so i guess its all about enjoyment, right? i mean, thats why we play games, hump midgets, whatever it is we do to enjoy life. ah well. at least i dont get too drunk to go fishing.
