Wife's playing games again....well wort of
When we first met, my wife used to be a gamer. After we finished school, the first thing we did is buy a N64. I then bought a PS1 and she got into that. She was mainly into RPG's and adventure games like Final Fantasy and Zelda, with some Mario thrown in. Well she is back into it, sort of anyways.
For Christmas, I bought her the new Super Mario Brothers for Wii, which my son laughs at everytime she dies. I also picked up Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box for her, which she loved and finished in a couple of days. She then picked up Professor Layton and the Curious Village and I grabbed her the New Zelda for DS as well. She is definitly a Nintendo fan. In a way it is nice as the Wii was collecting dust, other than my son playing Mario Kart on it.
She has also been watching me play Dragon Age and Mass Effect on the 360 so it will be interesting to see if she gets into the big consoles or not.

I really miss sleep
This is going to be pretty scrambled as that is how my brain feels right now.
Ever since we had our daughter in January, sleep is something neither my wife or I get much of lately. My son was a great sleeper. Only time he was up was to either eat or when he was teething. And he was always up at the same time. My daughter is the complete opposite. She wakes up all the time, mostly because her soother fell out, which I find strange as she only uses them to sleep. Try giving her one any other time and she throws it back at you.
Lately though it has been rough as she has a cold and was having a hard time breathing. This happened a few months ago as well, at that point she spent 3 days in the hospital. This time my wife was their for about 7 hours on Friday night and 6 hours on Saturday morning. Friday night I stayed with our son and Saturday my mom took care of him while I worked. My wife was going to let me know if they admitted her and I would go to the hospital from work since it is not even a 5 minute drive from there. So essentially she has asthma and it is pretty hard on her because of how small her airway is. When we asked if this would be an ongoing problem, the doctor explained that it may be for now but most kids do grow out of it. I grew into asthma as I never had it until I was 16.
It sucks watching little kids go through things like this.

Joy and Pain(ful)
First, the pain(ful):
Nothing major but enough to cause me pain. I was showing my son the salmon spawning in the creek near our house. Rather than just go to the end of the street and show him, I took him to an area where I knew there would be lots of salmon. He was having a blast watching them try and get up the creek. We went to the creek edge very quietly so as not to scare or stress the fish, the smile on his face was priceless. I decided to give him a better vantage point by going to a pedestrian bridge over the creek and lifting him up so he could see better. I didn't see the small gap between the railing and the walkway so of course my foot slipped a bit and I pulled a tendon in my ankle. Good thing I was't holding him as I did the total collapse on the ground as he laughed his ass off.
Now the Joyful part ![]()
My son is pretty much potty trained. He does both #1 and #2 on the toilet. He needs some prompting to go but he does it all by himself otherwise. Even wipes his butt. We had a few accidents early in the week but we knew it was coming. My wife was paranoid that he would never be potty trained. I told her he is 3 and will go when he is ready, which he did.
To top it off, the same day my daughter took her first steps. Of course I was at work when this all happened but she took a few for me when I got home. My son walked at 11.5 months, my daughter at 9. Cool!!
