Late to the Party: Little Big Planet

So I bought Little Big Planet today...wow it is amazing.  I brought it home, my wife was around and bored, so we cracked it open and started playing.  We played the first two levels and had a blast!  The music is great, the tutorials are fun, and the levels just make you smile.  Then we headed over to her parents house for a late Christmas gathering.  After we got home, got the kid to bed, my wife then went to bed.  No problem I thought, I will just play some LBP. 

Wrong!

How sad...LBP is only fun with others.  I was bored by myself, and I couldn't even do the challenges in the 3rd level b/c you have to have more then 1 person.  I tried to play online then, but I pulled out my sticker thing and put a sticker on the dudes costume and he got so pissed he booted me

The game is so fun.  I am sad I only have like 8 2o2p ps3 people on my list.  I just posted in the clan forum for some new people to add who play that game, b/c I so want to play it.  The only problem is I can't usually play until 10 at night cst and most sane people are sleeping by then.

On the PSP front, things are awesome.  I can't believe how much I have grown to love that console.  I am currently playing Star Ocean: First departure, Midnight Club LA, and Monster Hunter 2.  All 3 games are amazing.  I can't wait to play the new final fantasy dissidia game and Phantasy Star Online.

Its sad that piracy is so terrible with the psp, b/c the little device is so cool!  I hope the psp2 has even better ps3 integration, b/c it is so nice how sony made the plastform work with the ps3.  There is so much possiblilities there....

midnight club la

The last time I played a midnight club game was midnight club 2 on the ps2. It was terrbile.  On a whim since no one bought me a videogame for Christmas I went to best buy and bought a psp game....midnight club LA remix.  This game is amazing.  The graphics are crazy good for a portable, and the gameplay is so fun.  I now want to get it for the ps3 just to see if it is as much fun as the psp version.

The controls are very hard to get used to.  I have adult hands on a device made for Japanese teenagers, but now that I got 'em down, I can do very well.  My right wrist somewhat hurts after a constant day of playing, but it was a total blast!

NOTE:  On Christmas day I realized that I had never taken motorstorm 2 online.  Figuring that on Christmas day there would be a lot of Timmies online with the game for the first time, I immediatly went online proceeded to kick a bunch of virtual rear ends.  My guess was correct.  I won a few races with a big enough margin that noone else was able to finish.  I got quite a few trophies for my troubles.  I figure in another month all those lighting quick reflexes on those Timmies will prevent me from winning, so it felt good to dominate like I did.  The moral of  this story is, Christmas time is a great time to virtually beat up a few kids who don't yet know what they are doing

I am addicted to Motorstorm 2

I can't stop playing motorstorm.  I don't know what it is, but that game brings me so much joy.  Its like I am a little kid everytime I play it.  Yeah I am on the last part of it, and it is impossible, but it is so much fun.  I heard someone on the 1up show say the game was a bunch of ledges that where a little bit to small, and vehicles that where a little to fast.  I like that. discription of the game, and it immediatly forced me to continue playing for the rest of the evening.

The other little toy I picked up was a brand new PSP.  I loved my psp and when the psp-3000 was announced I told a single mother in my church that I would sell her the system for my kid.  I gave them 2 games, a japanese white psp 2000 and a 1 gig mem stick.  In my mind I was going to buy the psp-3000 core and a memory stick or a used psp-2000 and memory stick.

I don't know what kind of scam gamestop is running, but a used psp-2000 + used 1 gig mem stick + a warranty + 1 game was like $250.  What the heck!  If I would have thought about it, I wouldn't have sold my old psp!  Anyway I play monster hunter 2 every week with a group of guys so I had to hurry up and buy one if I didn't want to fall to far behind.  I bought the blue psp-2000 madden bundle when I couldn't find a psp-3000 to try out.  I am afraid of buying that supposidly bad screen.

The psp-2000 is definatly much nicer then my old psp phat.  I can't wait to go kill some monsters with the boys this weekend. 

November Gaming

So last night was a gaming moment in the household.  I watched my wife finish the main quest in Fallout 3.  It was pretty awesome.  The good news is that now I am not in a rush to do that main story line.  I want to really explore the world and see what i out and about in the area.

I have been playing motorstorm pretty religiously.  I am about 75% thru the game.  I don't know if I have what it takes to beat this game tho.  The races have gone from enjoyable to painful.  It can take me up to an hour of trying to win a race.

I have had a lot of "pain" in gaming lately.  I have been playing monster hunter 2 every sunday with friends this entire year.  I can't play that game by myself anymore.  It is too HARD!  I want to just relax when I play games.  MH2 has turned into a second job for me!  It is still awesome fun when I play with my friends, but the single player game is just too taxing for me too enjoy it anymore.

My psp group has decided to skip MH2 2nd G b/c we do not want to start over.  We are going to take up phantasy star for psp in march tho.  I wish their were some other good co-op games for psp besides monster hunter.

Lastly, I have been playing one of the most Amazing games of 2009.  Killzone 2 is for every pc gamer turned console gamer on  this site.  It reminds me so much of counterstrike, but with amazing console graphics.  Kills and patience are king in this game.  The thing that turns me off of 99% of all FPS games is the lack of importance you have in a round.  KZ2 takes care of that issue for me.  In KZ2 you are rewarded for taking your time and setting up the perfect shot.  You are rewarded for using strategy and tatics in a fight.  You set up firelanes, you flank, you work together, or you die.  There are going to be a lot of timmies who really freak-out when they play this game online.  They won't understand why they need to be nice to each other in order to advance in the online arena.

So thats it for now.  I will play the snot of out KZ2 today, just b/c the beta ends tonight.  For Christmas I am asking for Mirrors Edge, Star Ocean 1, and maybe midnight club LA for psp.  Anyone have any other suggestions?
