Updates

Kitty:

One of the comments asked if my kitty was one of those fluffy stuffed animal look alike cats. So I took a better photo of my baby =)

She's all gray with green eyes.. and sometimes a bad little gremlin!

Cables:
I finally had a chance to fix up my cable situation in the gaming/entertainment center area. This took FOREVER! I probably started around 2pm and didn’t finish until 6pm or so yesterday evening. I wanted to do it right so I unplugged everything first, untangled all the cables and went to town! Thanks to everyone for suggestions. I used Velcro wraps, plastic cable ties, thin (~.5in) vinyl tape and one “wrap” thingy for the cables running against the wall. The cable nails were delayed in shipment so I still have to do that but it’s mostly for the antenna cable. I broke out a better camera this time to show off my handy work =) You can barely see any cables now at all. YAY
Today I will be searching for game and controller storage solutions. I kind of want the games displayed somewhere. The Wii also seems to be sticking out like a sore thumb, with all it's whiteness. I have to figure out if there are covers for it so it doesn't look so unbalanced.

Mouse:
I ordered a Logitech VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks from Amazon. This mouse is awesome! Ergonomic design is superb; it feels very natural to hold it. It has a battery life indicator (takes 1 AA), and has a small slot in the back to store the USB receiver when not in use. (which is great for me as I always lose USB keys). Scroll wheel can be adjusted for "smooth" or with "ticks", and there is a zoom and extra buttons on the sides. It seems to work virtually on any surface. I tried it out on my leg even! I highly recommend it if anyone is in the market for a new mouse.

New Games:
I got Oblivion and started playing it a bit yesterday and so far I’m not impressed. Considering I’m still in the “underground” dungeon mode but I really dislike games where you have to adjust screen brightness to see anything. Why are game designers so lazy these days and can’t add some ambient lighting in these situations. It’ doesn’t feel REAL at all. To me that's just bad art direction.
Others I got are Tomb Raider Underworld, MK v. DC Universe, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Halo 3. I tried out Halo 3, but I think I want to finish GoW2 before getting too much into another game of this type.

Since I got up quite early today and the sun setting over the city was looking quite beautiful I took a couple of photos from my window.

Kitty says... I kill j00r mouse, joo play with me nao

Lunch time quest.... find a new gaming mouse.

This morning my kitty really wanted to play at 5am. I pulled the covers over my head and tried to tune out her lament for some attention. After a little while she gave up and with sadness and head down let out a soft little cry and marched out of my bedroom. I almost felt sorry for her enough to get out of bed.... almost

Well now I'm kind of sorry that I didn't, as the sweet sad kitty turned in a raging lunatic and started knocking down everything in site. As she rampaged through the house, trying to get my attention I finally jolted out of bed when I heard a loud crash on the floor. As I walked around looking for evidence, still half asleep, feet cold and dragging I finally spotted something next to my computer desk. In disbelief I slowly approached where I found my beloved nightly companion... the Logitech G7 mouse I have used for two years playing WoW. (OK so maybe it wasn't that dramatic)... but she finally did it... she finally took revenge >.< (maybe it's a sign I shouldn't ever play that game anymore?! =O )

So I guess lunchtime will be spent looking for a new mouse. G7 WAS made for my hand. I cannot use ANY other mouse after using it. Its ergonomic design fit my hand like a glove, plus the new design color looks really nice. But I kind of also want to try a new model. www.amazon.com/Logitech-Revolution-Cordless-Laser-Mouse/dp/B000HCT12O/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2
Necessities… battery life indicator (so it doesn’t stop working in the middle of a raid!.... well that’s if I come back to WoW =p), additional side (thumb) button.
I need to do this fairly quickly as I have no other mice at home right now. I can use my laptops to use the interwebs and such, but all of my pictures, videos etc is on that computer!

Such a bad kitty. If she didn’t have such a sweet face I would smack her!

Here is her posing with her nemesis some time ago =/

[Adult] Nerdly Heaven =)

I figured since I'm a designer I probably should get my act together and come up with some kind of unique Blog Header....and a funny picture!

I'm an Xbox 360 newbie =) Last week I got back from a month long work trip where I put in over 300 hours! I work for a litigation consulting company and travel to trial sites from time to time developing opening/closing and expert presentations/demonstratives used in court. But that's not important.. what is, is that my company pays out overtime for these trips and my "gift" to myself was an Elite Xbox 360, and 5 games to get me started on this new gaming adventure.

I was 7 or 8 when my dad bought a C64 for my sister and I for xmas... and my trigger happy fingers were never the same. I've mostly been a PC gamer, but I still have my original Playstation, and played a ton of PS2 when it came out.

I've "quit" playing World of Warcraft about a year and a half ago and need something to "fill" some free time and the Wii is just not cutting it. It was a VERY hard adjustment to just stop playing cold turkey as I was probably putting in a good 25+ hours per week raiding. Up at all kinds of hours of the night, trying to "finish" a boss. Leading raids and getting pissed off at people. Crazy times but my personal life and sanity was fading away so I had to stop. The past year has been filled with work and more work and I started to miss gaming. What I have missed most though was the human interaction. Logging in daily to the guild and being welcome by a group of people that "spoke the same language". So I finally convinved myself that 360 was the way to go as I will get to play with other humanoids from time to time. Not to mention I got a brand new Sony XBR 6 42" TV that sits and collects dust otherwise! But more about the set up in a later post when I get my horrible cord situation taken care off =)

Since I usually take time off after these intense work trips, I spent last week on the sofa playing Fable 2... and replaying it... and playing some more after finishing the game. It has a lot of similarities to WoW, even the fact that I played for 12 hours straight, two days in a row =)
