The Simple Joys of a Damn Good Sammich

What is your favorite sammich? Not a sandwich. Not something slopped together by an awkward timmy at Subway. The kind  you make at home. Sometimes in the middle of the night?

Mine is an Everything Bagel, with Grey Poupon Harvest Mustard, slice of bell pepper, and honey ham stacked up like your mom's pants. My daughter has jumped into the fray with here, a regular bagel, one side with regular cream cheese, the other with strawberry cream cheese, and two perfectly folded triangles of ham in between. A serious upgrade from the Ketchup/Mayo sandwiches.

Halloween this year I am breaking from our traditional Jedi Knight garb to embrace our brain cravings.  My son is Boba Fett (showed him Jango costume, and he rolled his eyes so hard.) My daughter is going as Hello Kitty, but she wants to be zombie hello kitty.  That is going to be one terrifying pussycat.

I'm working on being a Smoker.  From Left 4 Dead. Nasty old pants and greasy jacket. Zombie up my face and hands.  Put a bit of green gauze on wire over my head for the tell, and one leg of hosiery stuffed with a slinky for my Smoker tongue. If all goes as planned, my daughter and I will scare the shit out of the neighborhood, and my son will be totally embaressed.

Full Time Housewife, 24/7 IW Fangirl

I am sure the novelty will wear off, but I am loving staying at home to work. It's only been one week, but I feel soooo much less stressed! My daughter is acting better, the house is cleaning, we are eating REAL food and saving a crap ton of cash in the process.  I am doing more with family, and finally have the time to really get involved with my son's school and projects.

Plus it doesn't hurt that I have a tad more game time.    LOL

Wii No More.

My daughter got tired of the Wii rather quickly, so yesterday we traded it in, with 5 games and some accessories, for an Xbox for her. Yeah, she's four. Yeah, it might be excessive. But there is nothing better than playing in her Viva Pinata Garden. Or getting an emoticon message from her that took her 20 mins to do. She loves dressing up the avatar and playing arcade games like Kingdom for Keflings.  It's a good start to teaching her about responsible gaming. Already her room stays cleaner, she is little Miss Please and Thank you, and offering to help with chores for "Xbox Money".  Never too young to get addicted to the Gamerpoints.

Mah Man Hands.

Yes, I finally got the IW tat. It's old news, and sorry I didn't post here sooner. Just got things up and going again. I had looked at many incarnation of the logo, but the one on the COD4 Backlot map was my final decision.  I tried a few artists around here in NC, but they all wanted to put their own flair on it. So on a trip to Augusta for Vulcan PMS's birthday weekend, I got it done there.

Finally fed up with the how the kids Kingdom has Sprawled all over our space upstairs, FRET and I are going to move them out.

To the Garage.

Once a special place to kick back and record an album or goof off and play darts with friends, in the past year it has become the dumping ground for our household.

That ends tonite.

First, we are going to really toss about the contents of that room. Save, goes out the back door to the shed, Toss goes out the garage door to the road, and Use stays right there.

Then all the Kiddy Crap comes down. Two TV's, 360, Wii, DVD, Kitchen, Globes, a million stuffed animals, a million more light sabers and Star Wars figures.

COD Who?

I will never forget the good times I've had on COD Series. But I honestly am not playing it right now. Burnt out?  Beyond that.  Fed up? Nope, hackers make me giggle. It's simply that it's....

Boring.

Not the "been there done that boring".  I'm not even a gold cross yet. I know the maps like my own house. But there is nothing challenging anymore.  The Timmy's don't even get a rise out of me. I can't remember the last time I was goofing off in a lobby and had a Timmy rankle me so badly I put down my beer and beat their face in with my MP5.

So I discovered Left 4 Dead.  Badass game. Versus is especially awesome because I never run out of finding new places to Smoke people, or bounce my barfing Boomer off a ledge and SPLAT get the whole survivors team. I play it at least half of my gaming time now. How did I miss this game when it came out? I think I even played the demo but I was blinded by my COD Fetish.

Now November approaches.  I toured IW Studios earlier this summer.  I cringe at every detail of the game that comes out.  Will it Rock?  Of course it will!  But maybe I prefer my pink haired Witches to my brunette soldiers now.  I got pumped a bit with the CTF video.  Then I started LOOKING at the video.  Wtf is all this crap all over the screen?  Did someone spill Transmission fluid on my faceplate? Why are the numbers so freaking huge that pop up in front, to the side, behind, below, encompassing my view?

I know I am already starting to pick apart the game in fear that it will suck.  In fear that it will not be my COD4.  Lowering my expectations.

I'm like a Vampire with a Human lover on True Blood.  COD4 has aged and is dying, I'm looking for my next love and not sure anyone will ever measure up to her.

So it's a media blackout for me right now on all things COD.  Beta? Who cares.  Videos? Won't click the link.  I want it to be like the Christmas I never had.  A real surprise.  Like a Rainbow in a furnace.
