I think I'm addicted....

to the gym! Methinks that's a great addiction to have. I realised this last night when I was at the gym and ended up staying 3 times longer than I planned! I've only really started up the gym a week ago, but in the past 5 days I've gone 4 times (the other day I went out for a run). The last few nights I"ve also been sleeping like a baby, which is great cause I've been doing a lot of tossing and turning the past few months.

I actually keep my iPods at home when I go to the gym, instead I'm using my ancient Creative MuVo MP3 player (512MB), cause it has an FM tuner on it (Fuck you Apple for being so fucking stubborn on this). The FM tuner is important as there are TVs all over the gym that broadcast the sound over FM. So, if I'm there and there is a good show on, or a hockey game, I can now listen to it. If not listening to the TV, I tend to listen to some podio/podcast novels (currently: "7th Son Book One - Descent" by J.C. Hutchins). If you want some great novels to listen to, check out podiobooks.com! Scott Sigler and Hutchins are good, and I recommend them.

Speaking of the gym, I think I'll be heading over there shortly. I cannot think of a better way to get the Easter long weekend going! (I have both Friday, and Monday off, so a 4-day weekend for me)!

In need of a better Twitter client (for the Mac)

I started out using Twirl, then moved on to TweetDeck. My problem with TweetDeck is it seems to start to fuck up my macbook after a while. I've tried redownloading it, and the same thing happens, my mac tends to start to slow down after leaving it up for a while. I already have this issue occasionally with Firefox, I don't need another application being a hog.

So, I am looking for a new client (for the Mac). Anybody have any suggestions? Or do I go back to Twirl? I recently heard about something called Seesmic (sp?). Might give that a try again.

Well I went and commited to the gym (Shapes) for a full year last night. My trial membership period was almost up, and I decided it is time to go full force into getting into some semblance of good health. This gym is slightly more expensive than my local YMCA, but it is so much bigger. Even when the parking lot is full, there is no problems getting on the equipment. Oh, and being open almost 24/7 is a good bonus too. I'll have to do a 5am workout some day.

Now I need to rag on my brother to sign back up so I don't have to go solo all the time. My sis goes too, but she tends to hang out on the woman's side and not the co-ed side. I need to get the wife interested... I wonder if I can my sis to rag on her to be her workout partner

I also started to run around my neighbourhood, damn does that need work. At this time I am really pushing it hard just to make a single kilometer without having to revert to fast walk speed. But, I have already started noticing some endurance progress, even after just a small handful of runs! I think my goal is to one day run a marathon. Probably won't be ready for that for a long time, maybe 2011. I'll definitely have to try a half-marathon first.

Last night was a gym night, I think tonight will be a run. It's sunny out and the path I run on is bone-dry (despite all this crappy white snow on the ground). Plus, my nike avatar just told me he turned into a couch potato, and that his legs could use some exercise, lol!
