NFL Draft

I don't know why I watch the NFL Draft year after year.  When you take a step back and think about it, it is pretty stupid to watch it on television.  However, I always watch.  Maybe, it is because I am a true football fan and on this day, everyone is a winner.  It is the one day, that you hope your team can draft a player that will make your team a winner.  The best thing to watch is the reaction of NY Jets fans.  These guys are never happy with their daft picks and I love to watch them moan.  However, this year they actually had some cheers.  The Jets drafted Mark Sanchez from USC and since I am a huge USC fan, I am happy for the Jets.  I think he will be a good QB in the NFL.  I think he will trun out to be a better QB than Stafford.

OK---Here we go.

Since I can't complain to much to the people around work, I thought I would do it here.

First of all, I am a Corporate HR Manager and I deal with a lot of bullshit.  People can be dumb and are are always trying to cheat the system.

For example, there was an employee that we terminated for consistent tardiness and I mean late.  As a company we are pretty forgiving, but I mean he was late over 15 times over a 3 month period.  I am not talking about 5 minutes late, I am talking about half an hour up to 4 hours.  We did the normal write ups and warnings where we finally let the dumbass go.  Then we get a letter that he is claiming discrimination because he says that were terminated him for being gay.

This is where the system is messed up.  During mediation we ended up paying him $1750 to "make him go away", where we did nothing wrong.  If we were to go to trial, we would end up having in intital lawyers fees of up to over $4000, so we pay this lying piece of shit a nuisance fee.  Things like this cost companies more money and people wonder why companies lose more and more money these days. 

Everyday, I have more and more stories of employees that try to cheat the system while hard working people pay for it.
