PAPA FAIL

There are really few things in life that make me giddy.  One of them is seeing my dad goof up.  This happened in the last few days and I'm still giggling. 

I was checking FB yesterday and saw a posting from my sister listing things she needed to get done prior to her vacation.  One of them was to contact an appraiser and contractors for the house.  Someone left a comment asking what had happened to the house and she responded that her dad backed into it.  My jaw dropped and I was immediately engulfed in giggles.  What was really funny was that my father had called to talk with me the night before and never once mentioned that this had occurred.  In fact, he called to ask me if I had ever recieved a notice from the state of Colorado asking for toll payment on that little used interstate outside Denver.  Nope, never did see anything.  For my father to call is a bit of surprise cause he never calls to just chat, there is always a reason and I just had a niggling feeling that he wanted to say something else, but never did.

Needless to say, I just had to call him and did.  I laughed and laughed giving him all sorts of grief.  He and mom are staying with his sister right now and I could hear her in the background laughing at his discomfort also.  BEST PHONE CALL EVER!

OK, I got that out of my system.  But wait....Does Soup know about this????  I called to see and left him a message.  Sure enough, not long after he calls me back asking for our Aunt's phone number so HE could (ahem) talk with dad. BWAHAHAHA.

(Dad did have a sense of humor about it, but I'm not sure about my sister.  Never did ask how much damage was done.)

Well, it seems it is that time of year for me.  The time when a body system decides to go kerplunk.  In the previous years it has been a blood clot in the lungs, last year it was numbness in my foot and this year it is a bulging disk in my lower back that has caused a massive spasm on my left side low back.  I swear, I have never felt pain like that before and I have had kidney stones.  This would have dropped me to the floor if my muscles hadn't locked up. OMG.  I totally understand what my brother is going through with his back.

So with that you would think I'm on some good drugs, right?  Not so fast.  I was put on Ibuprofen, darvocet, and flexaril.  The darvocet didn't seem to take much of the pain away and I seem to be having a reaction to the Ibuprofen.  Then to top that all off, I can't drive my car because my left leg won't function enough to use the clutch.  This suks!!!  Oh yeah, this happened three hours away while I was on assignment and I had to go into the emergency room.  Even then my options were to have someone come all that way to bring me home (and at that time, I could not get up from a prone position without tears of pain running freely down my face), I stay overnight and have them pump painkillers in me and try and get home the next day, or go ahead and drive home and then start the painkillers.  Yep, I did the last option.  This all happened last Wednesday and I'm still in pain.  At least I can get up out of bed without tears, but I still hurt walking.

Anyway, vent done.  I have to call the doc and see if I can get my scripts changed.

New console

Dastard and I bought our first 360 console April 2006 and had to get it replaced in November of the same year.  Coffin sent and refurbished returned.  That box lasted until June 7.  Called xbox support to get the path started towards repair.  Yes, I tried to do the online repair, but there was a glitch somewhere in th system and  couldn't get the box registered so I called and talked with "Ryan."  Called again last night when I got home from my latest assignment since we hadn't recieved the shipping label.  This time I talked with "Max."  Max said they didn't have my email so they didn't send the label.  Fine.  Done.  Dastard and I start reading the FAQs and realize that we are past warranty and would probably have to pay to get the damn thing fixed.  Well, hell, why not get a new arcade for a $100 more and get the 2 yr warranty from BB?  Cause we all know how long the refurbished ones may last. 

Wow, the first "date" Dastard and I have had a chance to go on and we end up at Best Buy.  I sense Deja vu.  Anyway, new console is hooked up and running.  The biggest difference is the noise, or lack thereof.  This thing is "QUIET".  Very nice.  The only problem is that it is not backward compatible with the original xbox games, so no Halo or Halo 2.  No problem.  My little library is mostly 360 games and I really never play H2.

Now I have no excuse to not play with the Cabal/PCP mixer tonight!  This could be interesting.....
