Great Week-end

It was a great week-end.

The Pittsburgh Penguins win the Stanley Cup on Friday and the I became the all time score leader in 1 vs 100 on Sunday.

It was a week-end win=o-rama!

Thank You All Veterans!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank all Veterans and current military personnel and wish them a Happy and safe Veterans day.

I especially want to pass those thoughts on to all 202play Veterans and Service personnel. Our Armed forces members do so much for us, our country and the world in general and deserve our thanks and support.

Just think of all of the activities we enjoy because of their sacrifices, from last weeks election being the biggest to maybe the smallest being our time spent playing video games .

So please sometime today take a moment and put all of the brave members , past and present, of America's Armed forces in your thoughts. Paraphrasing a great quote  never forget that "Millions around the world live in peace because thousands of Americans rest in Peace"

Sympathy for Female gamers

Since the launch of Halo3 I have been playing a lot of Matchmaking with the general Live population and because of my femine sounding gamertag, add in my trademark violet armor and the fact that my regular double team partner is female I get to receive a general idea of what a female gamer has to deal with in live.

The Halloween playlist was a particularly effective window into your world of live harrasment. A typical lobby goes something like this. "Hey Dawnfades can I get a blow job?" being screeched at me by pre-pubscent slugs. If I don't respond immediately it usually leads to a mixed chorus of insults and sexual propositions. I usually respond by saying "little boy, you're not my type"  Sometimes it shut's them the hell up , but it also lets the timmie fall back on another of their old favorites homophobia. I can only imagine how unrelenting they must be when they are taunting an actual female player.

These continual propositions and gender insults bother me mainly in the fact that female players have to be subjected to them. It's not that big of a deal for me,  personally to hear and put up with them. I do always speak up when actual female players are in a room and are suffering abuse from these idiots.

Once again you ahve my sympathy and I hope Halloween was just an unusally bad bad due to all of the Timmies being on a sugar high.

Ready for Halo3!

Well I'm ready for the Halo3 release tonight.

I participated in the Aged Assasins farewell to Halo2 party on Thursday night. What a great time that was and I can't wait for the weekly madness that Halo3 will bring with that bunch. On Saturday my copy of Halo3 was paid off and hopefully that will help speed up the pick-up process tonight.

This morning before work I hit Target to pick up a 12 pack of Game Fuel (I actually like it, it's a mix between Live Wire & Code Red), a bunch of Revive Formula Vitamin Waters, and plenty of Snacks(chips, peanuts, Mike & Ikes, Good N Plentys and gummi peaches) .

Tonight I'll head out around 10:30 to 11 to get in line and then my stores' always closed on Tuesday so I can put in some Marathon gaming sessions starting after Midnight tonight.

A horrible anniversary

Today is the  anniversary of the worst thing to ever happen in my life.  Seventeen years ago on this very day, one of my best friends, a guy who was like my brother killed himself. I couldn't believe it then and it's hard to believe it now. Just the day before we had played in a high school football scrimage and then the next day I got the call telling me he was gone. I never saw any signs that he was struggling but I still feel like I let him down by not being able to prevent it from happening. I think about him every day and I can't believe that he's now been dead for as long he lived. It's only fitting that I woke up today with a cold so I feel lousy in body and mind.

DMZ, I miss you bro and I hope someday we'll meet again somewhere somehow.
