Summer project

Came into some money recently and decided that I'd get a motorcycle and learn to ride. I've always wanted one, always looked at bikers wishing I could ride too, but time, money, space, and thinking about it never really came all together at once until now. Too bad it's so late in life, but better late than never! I should have done this when I was in my twenties, but then, I don't know if I would have survived it since back then I tended to drive much faster than I do now.

I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course and got my license by passing the test.  Went riding with a couple of experienced riders who gave me tips and helped me through getting on the real roads.  I've got a Yamaha R6, 2008 Special Edition the dealer had marked down since it was last year's model. Now I'm hooked. I love this thing. Rides like a dream, corners and handles great. It's a beautiful bike and I just love riding it. I just want to ride it everywhere now. Anyway, don't have many pictures yet, but here's me at the MSF class and one with the bike.

Inaugural KzC Killfest tonight

 The first Killzone Commandos Killfest is tonight!  Good luck to all Commandos participating!

Clan Updates

Killzone Commandos are running their first Killfest Tuesday night as a clan tournament. It is going to be a bi-monthly or monthly event pitting Commando against Commando. 1st place awards include recognition of the vast accomplishment, personal self-satisfaction and self-esteem, and the knowledge that you killed all your clan mates in a relentless and unforgiving fashion. Also, you get a sweet medal to be proudly displayed to all your friends!

We will also be hosting a Killzone Clan Mixer on Friday, May 1st beginning at 8:30 EST. Details are in the Killzone forum. Come on out and play!

On a personal note, we decided on all hardwood floors - we found a wood called Amendium that looked really nice in the house and fit will with the existing light oak kitchen cabinets and hand rails and the cherry furniture in the living room and dining room. Now, we just have to get everything packed up and ready for installation.

Cherry blossom dud

Well, we drove in and turns out there was a big Cherry Blossom 10 mile run today.  They had all sorts of roads closed and we ended up getting stuck in the traffic and not getting to park for the blossoms because all the roads were closed.  So we ended up driving back home and going to the park.  We did see the cherry blossoms from the car window, though.  Oh well.  Now we're thinking about maybe going to Hershey park at the end of the week.
