I want to be an assassin...
I know everyone is busy with MW2 right now, but anyone else checking out AC2?
The reviews were awesome for it, so I was pretty interested in playing it, but I had never played AC1, since the reviews for that pretty much said it was boring and repetitive. I didn't want to miss out on story though so I borrowed AC1 from my bro-in-law and LOVED it. Like "Holy Shit, I'm an asshole for listening to the reviews and not playing this!" type of moment. Yeah it was repetitive, but the climbing and the sneaking and the killing and the running from guards was so damn satisfying. Took me about 3 days to beat it. So I went out and bought AC2 before I was even done with AC1.
It was a little jarring going from AC1 to AC2 right away just because AC2 is so ridiculously amazing compared to AC1. It's like playing Super Mario Bros for the first time, beating it, and saying "Wow, that was a great game!". Then you pop in Super Mario Bros 3 for the first time, and your brain explodes inside your head with a small little *poof* sound. The graphics in AC2 blow me away constantly. When they load up the city in the Animus for the first time....wow, it really felt like being in the Matrix. If you've read reviews, you've probably heard AC1 is a tech demo compared to AC2, and that is absolutely true. AC2 feels more like GTA set in the renaissance with more swords and more prostitutes (yep, more, but you can't have 'alone' time with them, as far as I know).
I'm not super far into the game yet but already the variety of missions is pretty darn good. The side missions are infinitely better. The running on rooftops and climbing of buildings is better and FASTER. The story-line is starting to pick up pace with a little bit more mystery this time. There is money for buying things, upgrades to weapons, upgrades to armor....There is just *more* in this game. And after being surprised by how much I loved AC1........AC2 is like icing on the cake, topped with fudge, whipped cream, and naked big-breasted women.
If you liked AC1 even a little, you owe it to yourself to play AC2.

Oblivion DLC half price for a week! Horse Armor Double!
This made me laugh. I remember when the first DLC came out for Oblivion....and it was Horse Armor. For 200 points! This was some of the first DLC add-on content for a 360 game I believe, and I think MS was still testing the waters with its pricing policies. Needless to say, there was a huge uproar over paying 200 points ($2.50) for a bit of armor for your horse, and I was a part of that uproar. It has since become a running joke and the most glaring example of fuckitude by MS concerning their DLC. Nice to see Bethesda has a sense of humor about the whole horse armor thing now though.
Starting now and lasting a week, all Oblivion DLC is half price, but the horse armor will be twice it's normal price (up to 400 points).
I had been thinking about getting back to Cyrodil lately anyways, so this is perfect timing for me. I still need Vile Lair (now 75 points), Knights of the Nine (400 points), and The Shivering Isles (1200 points!). Getting Shivering Isles for only 1200 points is a steal. I couldn't justify paying $30 for it before, but I think I can swing $15.

If you haven't got everything yet, now is the time to buy!

Comics are awesome.
Dilbert and xkcd were awesome today, and I thought I'd share.

And, just because, here are some more of my favorite Dilberts...

The Beginning of a new Blog.
Hey! Let's start a Blog!
Why?
Because I'm in a German clean room bored out of my mind.
Have you seen Austin Powers? The first one? I'm in Dr. Evil's lair. Seriously. It's pretty cool. If I could find one of those little electric vehicles I would totally go find a skinny hallway and attempt to do a complete 180 degree turn in as many steps as possible. I may be able to post pictures later.
There are a couple things that make this Dr. Evil's lair. First of all, it's huge, and white, with no windows. Lot's of weird equipment laying around. Everyone is wearing clean suits, hair nets, and those booty things over our shoes. But the main reason is the announcer lady. Every once in a while, a woman comes over the loud speaker, undoubtedly announcing something very important in German that I cannot understand. She sounds like she could be the annoucer in Dr. Evil's lair. Except I think in the movie it was a dude with a German accent. Details, shm-etails.
Either way, everytime I hear her, I just know she's annoucing something about penis-shaped drills about to be plummeted into earth's core. If only I knew some German, I might be able to save the world.
Ok, enough wasting precious time blogging when I could be off looking for the fembots. Or working. Either is good, I guess.
