Holy Fucking Shit!

over 18 months....

over 150 job applications/resumes sent out...

over 15 interviews....

and it's finally over, at least for now. I finally scored a fucking job. I have been telling my wife that I think at this point I should start out slow... like with an easy part time job, but she wasn't having anything to do with it. Oh well  Now the funny part, the job is with the Unemployment Division of the Montana Job Service... lol. they must figure I know all about it by now, or maybe they have some pity for me. At any rate, I will take it! Downside is that is is a temporary position. But, the guy I interviewed with said that they do plan on adding 10 or more people over the next year, so if I work hard and impress them, maybe I can get on permanently.

and there was much rejoicing.... lol

Weekend Fun

 I am pretty excited today. Spring may have finally arrived... well at least until we get the last big spring snowstorm/freeze. It is supposed to be sunny and in the mid to upper 60's this weekend, and 70's Monday and Tuesday. I have been aching to go to the range to do some shooting. Unfortunately, ammo being so expensive and hard to find, I am pretty much relegated to shooting the .22's for the most part. I have a bunch of components to reload for my new .223, and can't wait to shoot it, but since I cannot afford to buy any more, I hesitate to shoot what I got. Is that bad? I hate using up what I have. Fucking horders.

Anyway, all this brings me to a couple shoots this weekend. We have an IPSC shoot today (which I cannot/haven't compete(d) in for a couple reasons), but tomorrow is the big deal, at least for me. We are having our first of three Steel Challenges for the year. www.steelchallenge.com

I am stoked because I can shoot my .22 pistol. There will be 4 stages (courses of fire) and you shoot each 5 times (dropping your worst score) for a little over a 100 rounds total....cheap by my standards! Anyway, there are many different classes, but I will be shooting in Rimfire Optics. I have a Ruger Mark II in .22 with a tiny red dot sight (optima 2000) on it that I love. Wish me luck!

I found another pic of Haystack Rock that I liked. I took a lot of photos of Haystack, I find it quite interesting how this huge rock stands out from the shoreline like this. This is the kind of weather we see the most of whenever we get to the coast, but I like this look.

It's been a couple days, I think I am running out of the good stuff. But I thought I would throw this one out there. It wasn't taken by me, but taken on my camera in class one day way back when I was taking photo 101 my first year in school. I really loved shooting b&w, and working in the lab even more. We bought our film in bulk, wound our own cans, then got to develop everything after. Alas, those days are over. It was shot on my Minolta and I scanned the negative a couple years ago when I got our scanner, so the quality isn't that great. I threatened you guys last night I was going to post this and scare the shit outta everyone!

Anyway, when I found this pic, it got me thinking. It really caught me, the way I present myself to people, as in very guarded. It isn't a great photo or anything, but it speaks volumes to me since I hate being in front of the camera.
