A little joke my son shared with me this morn
My son, Randy came downstairs this morning for school and says "hey dad how do you kill a blue elephant?" Puzzled and confused by what I was just asked I replied " Hell, I don't know." He answers with "you shoot him with your blue elephant gun" and then he runs back upstairs. I smiled and nodded thinking "JUST GO AWAY I NEED TO REWRITE THIS GOD DAMN PAPER I LOST YESTERDAY." As precious as he might be he came back down 10 minutes later and asks" hey dad how do kill a pink elephant?" I barked back at him "CAN"T YOU SEE I AM TRYING TO GET THIS FININSHED!" That didn't detour him he asked again "how do you kill a pink elephant?" Completely frustrated I answered "you shoot him with a pink elephant gun." "Nope" he said "you hold his nose til he turns blue, then shoot him with your blue elephant gun." I closed my laptop, smiled, laughed, and reaIized that the love and innocence of an 8 year boy was going to overpower anykind of frustration and determination I might have. My paper can wait my son's youth cannot.

you make the call?
Sit down protests, fist fights, and police called nationwide, over what? Could it be KFC’s inability to chicken-up so to speak for what could be the largest financial mistake in their history? Might it be a set up to crumble the fast food chicken giant as Oprah Winfrey, named PETA’s Person of the Year Dec. 2008, announces free chicken at unthinkfc.com? Or maybe Oprah is just two faced and is playing both sides of the chicken coup so to speak, who the hell knows? That is for you to decide.
Giving the current economic situation, many people are just flat broke and wanting anything they can get for free; can you blame them? Due to the over-whelming demand after the release of the downloadable coupon, KFC restaurants have closed their doors and have issued rain-checks to the public. In NYC some customers had a sit down protest until they received their free meal and in Greensboro the local sheriff had to be called to suppress the impending riot. Our police departments are being strained for what some free food. There just isn’t enough chicken to go around, cars are lined up around the block in several communities around the nation. Traffic jams for KFC, what’s next? It would seem that PepsiCo, the owner of KFC and Tyson Chicken, has a small dilemma, not a financial one, but one that deals with the way the public views this corporate giant. The whole world is watching, at this point and it could result in a black-eye for the company.
PETA has been trying to raise hell in every company that isn’t completely vegan. There are many acronyms to what KFC is, from Kentucky Fried Cruelty to Killing for Company. My question is why a woman of great economic stature, named Person of the Year by PETA, would knowingly announce free food from a company she, herself spoke out against? Some people would say it’s the fault of KFC. Or maybe the lack of foresight to what the free offer might bring? But if one looks a little deeper and read between the lines a person might see that this is just another plan to attack a large company that they can’t seem to control themselves. So are the vegan based organizations forcing this acronym, Keep Fucking Customers? Or maybe I have an elaborate imagination?

Santa Wears Camo!

Look I know that everyone thinks that Santa Claus wears a red suit, but experience has shown me different. Sometimes life serves you a shit sandwich, mine was on pumpernickel. We ran into hard times and lost everything. So I guess why I am writing this to say thank you to all of the men and women of our armed forces for their contribution to the people of the world. My cousin is recently got back from the Middle East, not in a box, like my cousin Dean. So after a bout with an illness in my lungs, leaving me in and out the hospital several times we found ourselves with pretty much nothing. And when I say pretty much I mean nothing. When you have nothing every little thing means so much; small things like a football meant the world to my boy and some piece of shit stole his last year. It was at Christmas this last year that I realized that Santa wears camo and carries an M-16 rifle. I was forced to get toys from Toys 4 Tots for my kids; when I opened the bag full of items there was a new football for my son to replace the one that little bastard stole. Yea I know it’s only a ball, but it represented more to my son, Randy. It represented time with him and me. I guess it also helped to restore a little faith in humanity for me. We have started moving up in the world since I got ill. I am currently in school to learn a new career. So again I want to thank the men, women, and their families of our military for their sacrifice.
